The Technicians Movie Review

Title: The Technicians
AKA: The Con Artists
Genre: Action, Crime,
Origin: South Korea
Release Date: December 24, 2014
Cast: Kim Woo Bin, Lee Hyun Woo, Kim young Cheol, Ko Chang Seok, Jung Man Sik, Jo Yoon Hee, Lim Ju Hwan, Shin Goo

Ji-Hyeok (Kim Woo-Bin) is an elite safe-cracker and counterfeiter. He works with Koo-In (Ko Chang-Seok) who introduces him to elite hacker Jong-Bae (Lee Hyun-Woo). There's rumors that Jong-Bae has betrayed other partners in his past. Nevertheless, the trio decide to work together to steal valuable diamonds held within a secret vault at a high-end jewelry store. The jewelry store is owned by President Jo (Kim Young-Chul). Meanwhile, President Jo is in search of an elite safe-cracker to help him steal millions of dollars stored within a Korean customs area in Incheon, South Korea. When he found out about Ji-Hyeok genius talent, he knew he was the one to help him succeed his mission.

This movie has a great plot and very mind blowing, it had so many twists that in the end I was so confused at what happened. Nevertheless, don’t worry, they wrap it up in a way that there is nothing to miss. I won’t get started at how amazing and praiseworthy Kim Woo Bin is, because we all know how awesome he is. He nail every role and character he gets no matter what, so Kim woo bin fan or not you will definitely fall for his charm in this movie (I’m specifically talking about that smirk face he does all the time gah!). Not to forget his two partners, they were really a spontaneous group of people. I liked their chemistry a lot. I don’t think I should be allowed to say more or else I’ll spoil something unknowingly! Definitly a great watch, so if you are reading this now and haven’t watched it, go get the movie ASAP!

Slow Video Movie Review

Title: Slow Video
Genre: Romance, Family, Life
Origin: South Korea
Release Date: October 2, 2014
Cast: Cha Tae Hyun, Nam Sang Mi, Oh Dal Su, Ko Chang Seok, Jin Kyung, Yoo Young, Kim Hyeon, Kim Kang Hyeon

Yeo Jang Boo (Cha Tae Hyun) was born with dynamic visually acuity, which enables him to visually discern fine detail in a moving object that ordinary people cannot, as if he's seeing the world in slow motion. Due to his special ability, Jang-boo has to constantly wear sunglasses, which made him a target of bullying at school and throughout his childhood. He spends 20 years isolated and alone, but his talent proves to be a gift later in life when he finally goes out into the world and ends up working at his neighbor's CCTV control center. One day while unenthusiastically watching passersby onscreen, he spots his first love Bong Soo-mi. Despite being terrible at social interactions, Jang-boo sets out to win her heart.

As the title of this movie, it is indeed very slow. Somehow, they managed to make the first half of the movie go scene by scene, as nothing happened. They used an awful lot of time to show how the character lived his isolated life from the others, if not for Cha Tae Hyun and his adorable acting I would have given up on it. Then the next half of the movie begins and stuff starts to happen, and before you know it, you fall in love with everything! I don’t regret that I kept watching, it was really worth it, you just don’t know it when you start. Cha Tae Hyun of course did a good job; he rather outshined all the other actors, even though I don’t know them I didn’t notice them either. The story were very moving too, It really touched me. Do I recommend the movie? Yes of course I do, you just need at little patience in the beginning, it will all make sense in the end!

Bunji's Verdict
This movie was exactly perfect for me - sweet, mellow and not fast paced. Now you think of me as an old lady, but what I mean is that this movie is just perfect for someone who is stressed or tense. It has so much character and personality that you really don’t mind much of it. I was afraid it would be a humor/comedy movie, but was pleasantly surprised when I noticed how serious and fitted funny it is.
Cha Tae Hyun is genius in his acting as always, adapting to a character that well. Though I can’t say everyone else was bad, Cha Tae Hyun was just better (LOL).
The movie in general is a brilliant story, to the point of heartwarming, so I would recommend it. But be warned, it is slow paced.

The Huntresses Movie Review

Title: The Huntresses
AKA: Joseonminyeo Samchongsa
Genre: Historical, comedy
Origin: Korea
Release Date: January 29, 2014
Cast: Ha Ji Won, Kang Ye Won, Son Ga In, Ko Chang Seok, Joo Sang Wook, Choi Seung Min, Park Dong Bin,

Joseon Dynasty’s top bounty hunters, the intelligent and talented martial arts swordwoman Jin Ok (Ha Ji Won), the housewife and fighter Hong Dan (Kang Ye Won), and the youngest of the trio: Gabi (Son Ga In). This trio never failed to capture a target, no matter the criminal. One day they get a mission from the king to search for a stauroscope that could protect Joseon, little did they know that a powerful group would do anything to prevent the king from finding it.

One of the best movies this year so far. I liked how funny and entertaining it was, while still having that twist of darkness and evil. You can say Ha Ji Won knows how to pick her projects, after acting out as a serious empress in Empress Ki, and then acting as an easygoing, little crazy girl, I have to say she did it with remarkably good results. It felt like two different persons. Not to forget the other two girls, who also contributed with amazingly fresh characters. As this being Son Ga Ins debut to the big screen, she should consider continue in this field, as she did a good job. To conclude this, I would like to recommend this movie to all of you.

Hello Ghost Movie Review

Title: Hello Ghost

Cast: Cha Tae Hyun, Kang Hye Won, Lee Moon Su, Ko Chang Seok, Jang Yeong Nam and Cheon Bo Keun

Kang Sang Man (Cha Tae Hyun) grew up an orphan, with no family members and no one to take care of him, also without a single friend. After being laid of his job he feels that he doesn’t have anything to live for, so he decides to kill himself. But for some reason he is simply not able to, as every time he is about to die, he wakes up. As a last resort he jumps off a bridge, but wakes up in the hospital, with the ability to talk to ghosts. Four of them make contact with him: a small and fat man that smokes cigarettes a lot (Ko Chang Seok), a middle-aged woman who keeps crying and says she’s sorry(Jang Yeong Nam), an old perverted man that loves his soju (Lee Moon Su) and an elementary school student that loves to eat (Cheon Bo Keun). The reason he isn’t able to die is because they won’t let him, until he fulfills their wishes. As he is fulfills every wish, he meets Jung Yun Soo (Kang Hye Won) a nurse who works at a hospice, whom he falls in love with.

I started this watching this movie because of two reasons, firstly well Cha Tae Hyun, secondly I wanted a great laugh. To be honest, I never imagined loving it this much. It completely caught me off guard, I totally never expected the ending, even though I’m seriously used to these twists…
Anyhow, Cha Tae Hyun is a great actor, all your money worth, I mean I have never been disappointed in watching his movies (yes, this is my second, but still I would totally buy this movie). Completely recommendable!

Jenji's verdict
First I gotta say I really love Cha Tae Hyun's movies he's such a great actor and fits those comedy, family roles. It was a good story I think and really surprising ending, it had a really good end. But it good a bit long for me I think or it didnt have the excitement like some of his other movies, but definitely not a bad movie, quite good actually. It was a bit weird too lol a few time I was thinking "what the heck.. O_o " Maybe the story was a bit weird but still good. Do you get me? hahah,,, I admit I watched it some time ago so its not,, fresh memory. Sorry!
