My Love, Eun Dong Review

Title: My Love, Eun Dong
AKA: Beloved Eun Dong
Genre: Romance
Episodes: 16
Broadcast Period: May-2015 to Jul-2015
Cast: Joo Jin Mo, Kim Sa Rang, Lee Ja In, Jr, Baek Sung Hyun, Yoon So Hee, Kim Tae Hoon, Kim Yoo Ri

This drama is about a man who has it all, yet is unable to possess the love of a woman he is unable to forget, whom he has been loving for the past 20 years. In 1995, Park Hyun Soo (Junior) is an energetic 17-year-old boy when he meets 13-year-old Ji Eun Dong (Lee Ja In), an orphan who still has a positive outlook on life. Hyun Soo’s heart is awakened by Eun Dong but she suddenly disappears before he could really get to know her. In 2005, Hyun Soo now goes by the stage name Ji Eun Ho (Baek Sung Hyun) and aspires to become an actor. When he bumps into Eun Dong (Yoon So Hee) again after 10 years, the two fall deeply in love. But again without warning, Eun Dong disappears without a trace. In 2015, Eun Ho (Joo Jin Mo) is now a top actor who has the fame and wealth he has always wanted. But what he doesn’t have is the love of his life to share his success with. So Eun Ho decides to write an autobiography that details his love for Eun Dong over the past 20 years in the hopes of locating her. He hires a ghostwriter, Seo Jung Eun (Kim Sa Rang), to help him write the book. After he dictates his stories of Eun Dong, he sends them to Jung Eun to transcribe and incorporate into his book. But why do these stories sound vaguely familiar to Jung Eun?

I fell for this drama from the first episode, the story was different and backstory was well thought out. The way the whole drama was executed, was beautiful. I feel like every single detail was carefully thought through and put in the correct sequence. Of course while you watch it, you get impatient and want to know how all this would end for the couple, but now that I’m done with the drama I somehow understand that the whole process was for me (and you) to understand that deep feeling and desperation to accept the ending. It was hard for me to accept the ending, but I actually used a day to think it through and my conclusion is that it was realistic and faithful for the whole drama.
Ah, one more thing I want to highlight, in lots of drama when the future is linked with the past, you get an enormously amount of flashbacks, and this one is no exception. However the flashbacks are always a new scene or from another perspective so you never get the feeling of a repeated scene all over the drama. So… Perfect I want to cry. The cast were all so emotional and were the perfect fit for the characters, they really made a storm of feelings. While we are at it, I can’t get Kim Sarangs elegance out of my head, she really is naturally beautiful, and as a girl I do feel slightly jealous :b
Overall this drama definitely is one of the best of 2015, it wasn’t even on my list to watch but I ended up marathon it for 2 days.

A Love To Kill Review

Title: A Love To Kill
AKA: This love I want to kill / The love of death / Knock out by love
Genre: Romance, Melodrama
Episodes:  16
Broadcast period: 2005-Oct to 2005-Dec
Cast: Rain, Shin Min Ah, Kim Sa Rang and Lee Ki Woo.

Cha Eun Seok (Shin Min Ah) is a rising superstar with a sad past and dominant family. She had fallen in love with Kang Min Goo (Kim Young Jae) a poor mechanic, who one day suddenly disappeared. After she gets drunk one night and son of a chairman Kim Joon Sung (Lee Ki Woo) tries to help her, a misunderstanding occurs and the two are filmed and gone viral. In order to save her image and his reputation, Joon Sung announces that they are getting engaged, even though Eun Seok refuses, her family pressures her to.
Kang Bok Goo (Rain) a poor kick-boxer, and also Min Goo’s younger brother, lives together with his trainer and his mother in a small house. Also livening there is Han Da Jung (Kim Sa Rang) his “girlfriend” who once before in order to save Bok Goo threw herself in front of a burning log - leaving her scarred with burns. Feeling guilty and responsible, he has sworn to take care of her. After not seeing his brother for 10 years because of a fall out, they finally meet again, only for Bok Goo to see his brother jump from a building, and end in an vegetable state.
Looking through Min Goo’s things, Bok Goo realizes that Min Goo and Eun Seok had a past together, which infuriates him thinking his brother would try killing himself for a ‘bitch’. Seeing that she is living as if nothing is wrong, he decides to take revenge on her - if she can’t be with her brother, she is going to be like him - so he becomes her bodyguard. The two spend time together, and the two slowly fall in love with each other…

The beginning was good, but somehow it just became bad and long, not to mention the bad ending. I have to admit that I liked Rain and Shin Min Ah, but the drama is just too heavy for my taste. Too many things at once, too much crying, too much sworn vengeance... Too much of everything, just not enough love. It’s funny because I like the writer (Sorry I Love You, Thank You, Nice Guy), but then again, heavy dramas with shitty ends. Okay… I don’t know whether or not I recommend it, but it has Rain in it, one of his good dramas (not a fan of Fugitive honestly), but still heavy.

Secret Garden Review

Title: Secret Garden
Genre:
Romance, comedy, fantasy, melodrama
Episodes:
20
Broadcasting period:
2010-Nov-13 to 2011-Jan-16
Cast:
Hyun Bin, Ha Ji Won, Yoon Sang Hyun, Kim Sa Rang, Lee Philip, Lee Jong Suk, Yoo In Na, Kim Ji Sook, Park Joon Geum, Kim Sung Oh, Choi Yoon So

Kim Joo Won (Hyun Bin) is arrogant, rich and the president of Loel. One day as he is to get an actress he mistakes the stunt woman, Gil Ra Im (Ha Ji Won) for her. As he does not ask whether it is her but just asks "Do you know Oska?" she answers yes because Oska is a musician and her idol. She follows him and he does not find out that he has made a mistake till later. But BAM! love at first kick. He cannot stop thinking about her and often visits her and tries to get to know her. But Gil Ra Im is very different from him. She has had a hard life because she lost her mother at early age and her father, a firefighter, some years back. She lives in a small cheap place with her friend. Joo Won himself is surprised that he has fallen for his woman because she has nothing which a rich family would look for in a daughter-in-law and that is also the reason why they meet a lot of obstacles. But one of the biggest challenges they meet is when they mysteriously switch bodies, now they even have to try living each others lives but will their love pass the test? Will they grow closer or will it break their love? Their love faces one challenge after another ...

The drama made me go "KYA!" . Yup. Its a kya-drama. One that makes your heart beat faster and has a lot of those kiyooo couple moments. Even though the only thing that ruined the realistic-feel was when they switched bodies, that makes you go "oh well,, its just fiction". But it was still one of the reeally good romance comedies. It had lots of humor all the time it was fun and you laugh a lot. But then it also had those heartbreaking moments where you kyaaant breathe, and those sweet lovey dovey moments that make you heartbeat skip. Another good thing is that an issue or problem never stays too long there is always something new happening and so it keeps your interest and doesnt get boring. But one thing i wondered was like.. are korean dramas all on low budget? There are so many technical ..things. And like where the director should yell "NG!!" but nope. And the editing is not quite good as well. And yeah im psyco when it comes to tht. It has to have really good quality or it ruins my experience. But this is not the only drama. But it still means a lot when it comes to rating stars. Short: the visuals are bad. But the feel is definitely high because i rate it a Kya-drama. Thats high. Cause at the end i couldnt say anything i just went "gyaah.." . The kyaah at the end of a drama says it all , :P

☆☆☆9/10 / 3,9 out of 5 stars (lol the 0,1 from 4 stars is bcuz of the lousy editing, but the script and all is still good)

Bunji's Verdict
Without doubt one of the most amazing storylines in ages, and I’m surprised to say I actually liked it. Even though it has those ‘drainy’ moments, it’s one of those that warm your heart, episode after episode.
On the other hand, I have to agree with Jenny, it SERIOUSLY has the worst editing; either that or the director was on crack. I mean even I noticed so many freaking mistakes. Lol, like at the ending of one episode it’s night, next episode, same scene, its morning. May not be noticed if you are watching it with 7 days in between, but watching them one after another is horrible.
The script was good, so were the characters, but towards the ending it became a little too much, like complicated and confusing. The ending was nice though, closes a lot of question or ‘loose threads’. I have to admit Hyun Bin is amazing, not that good-looking, actually silly-looking, but bloody hell, amazing actor.
I enjoyed it, and I guess I recommend it : D
