Mystery Queen Review

Title: Mystery Queen 2
AKA: Queen of Mystery 2
Genre: Mystery, Comedy, Romance
Episodes: 16
Broadcast period: 2018-Feb to 2018-Apr
Cast: Choi Kang Hee, Kwong Sang Woo, Lee Da Hee and Park Byung Eun.

This drama continues where the last left off.
Yoo Seol Ok (Choi Kang Hee) got divorced from her prosecutor husband, and now lives with her best friend Kim Kyung Min (Kim Hyun Sook). The two are both trying to get into the police academy, though Seol Ok still helps Ha Wan Seung (Kwong Sang Woo) with cases during her free time. Unfortunately, Seol Ok isn’t able to make the cut for the academy, even though Kyung Min does. And while trying to study and/or find places to do so, she gets involved in several cases - which she, with Wan Seung, tries t solve.
During a case they encounter Jung Hee Yeon (Lee Da Hee), who runs several cake shops around Seoul. Though her personality is nice and very likeable, there seems to be a deeper truth behind her interest in Wan Sung...

After watching season one, I was intrigued to watch this season, since I felt the previous one had been lacking a lot of different things. I like that they tried to make the love story of these two with a sense of humor, unfortunately that became boring half way through, and I lost interest. Even the “jealousy” parts were boring, though I admit, I laughed at them. I like that we were introduced to the families of the characters, and I like that they added new characters that recurred. Though the main story was boring - the thing with Wan Seungs past - the small stories were alright. Truth be told, this drama isn’t memorable. It has funny moments, but fails, if you ask me, in the serious parts, and has a bad story line.
My verdict is the same as I mentioned in the first season: this drama is okay, with decent acting.

Mrs. Cop Review

Title: Mrs. Cop
Genre: Crime, Thriller
Episodes: 18
Broadcast period: 2015-Aug to 2015-Sep
Cast: Kim Hee Ae, Kim Min Jong, Lee Da Hee, Son Ho Joon and Lee Ki Kwang.

Choi Young Jin (Kim Hee Ae) is the squad head of her police squad, and close friend to the captain Park Jong Ho (Kim Min Jong). She is good at her job, and deals with some of the most brutal cases in the police station, but is also a single mother to her 6-year-old daughter, who is being taken care of by her aunt; Young Jin’s younger sister.
When her chief and even higher ‘higher-ups’ want to make an innocent man go to jail, so the story about the actual murder can be hushed down, as it involves some politicians, Young Jin becomes furious and wants to fix I, but the entire situation, as well as her job, gets complicated, and she resigns.
Two years later, Young Jin now has much more free time and spends much of her time with her daughter. Though she misses her work, she is unable to tell her sister and daughter. That is until Jong Ho asks her to return: she is made the head of a special task force that is to uncover the murder of a young girl. And she is joined with 5 other members, whom all are a tad more different than the usual detectives…

Hmm, I am not content with my summary, but I think I covered most of it.
This drama is one of the funniest and coolest police dramas I have seen, and it’s not all that amazingly made. On a Korean crime/police/action rate, this one is up there with IRIS (the first one) and Phantom. I enjoyed almost every single bit of it, and the couple in the drama were one of my favorites in the year of 2015. Even though they had little romance, their chemistry was incredible – and funny! Or rather my type of funny… Just enough without being ridiculous (I’ve heard complaints about my humor… So you might not agree on it being a comedy). I liked all characters to be honest and I found the storyline good to. So hell year recommendable!

Big Man Review

Title: Big Man
Genre: Melodrama, Romance, Suspense
Episodes:  16
Broadcast period: 2014-Apr to 2014-Jun
Cast: Kang Ji Hwan, Lee Da Hee, Daniel Choi and Jung Soo Min

Kim Ji Hyuk (Kang Ji Hwan) is a former gangster trying to live life right by cutting ties with the gangs, and getting part time jobs. After he finally getting the man responsible for a death he was set up on, Ji Hyuk wants to live as normal as possible. That is until one day the son of Hyesung Group Kang Dong Suk (Daniel Choi) gets into a car accident and needs a heart transplant. Trying to jump the transplant list, the Kang family is informed that they will not be able to do so no matter money or wealth. So they find illegal means in order to find the most promising match for a heart transplant, which happens to be Ji Hyuk. After ordering to attack Ji Hyuk the Kang family adds Ji Hyuk to the family register because that is the only possible way for the transplant to be given to Dong Suk. But when Ji Hyuk suddenly awakens at the hospital, where he was supposed to be brain dead, the Kang family has no other choice but to pretend that Ji Hyuk is their long lost son.
At first Ji Hyuk tries to accept his new found family, he is surprised to find out that there is something wrong with their story as well as the reason for “finally finding him” and tries to find the truth, but the president of Hyesung is not that easy to get around…

Another chaebol story: this time one that tries to become chaebol out of revenge. I think the idea and the storyline was very well thought off, even though very typical. And yet they were able to make me watch every episode every week. It was not too exciting; more of a good breather, in between all those stuffy dramas, this one was pretty okay to watch.
The one thing that intrigued me was the Kang family, who were so scary to starts with, but as I kept watching they were just scary and weak as hell. I like Ji Hwan, though he kind of bored me half way through, same with Da Hee.  Daniel Choi was scary like really, couldn’t recognize him, and Jung Min Soo was useless once again.
Lol, I’m trying not to give up too much, but to sum up: a typical Korean chaebol drama, with a twist of crazy/scary family.

Secret Review

Title: Secret
AKA: Secret Love
Genre: melodrama / romance / suspense / mystery
Episodes: 16
Broadcast period: 2013-Sep-25 to 2013-Nov-14
Cast: Ji Sung, Hwang Jung Eum, Bae Soo Bin, Lee Da Hee, Lee Duk Hwa, Jo Mi Ryung, Song Min Kyang, Yang Jin Sung, Kang Nam Gil, Ahn Ji Hyun, Joo Soo Young, Moon Ji In, Hwang Suk Jung, Yang Hee Kyung, Kang Shin Il, Kim Hyun Kyoon . . .

Kang Yoo Jung (Hwang Jung Eum) is the kind of girl who dedicates her everything to her boyfriend, Ahn Do Hoon (Bae Soo Bin). They have been together for several years and Yoo Jung is supporting him in becoming a prosecuter, something which isn't easy considering their circumstances, all while waiting for him to propose to her. Then one evening it happens. Do Hoon takes her out to the café they usually go when celebrating occasions. He finally proposes to her and Yoo Jung's world is all bliss. They head back home with the car, Yoo Jung is all smiles and is living the fairytale of her life. However there is an uneasy feeling over the night. A heavy rain starts to fall and they can barely see anything. Suddenly an accident happens. The car starts slipping and Do Hoon loses control and hits something. He goes out to check and Yoo Jung shortly follows, however he says there is nothing and they get back in the car. A few days later, cops arrive at Yoo Jung's place. She gets arrested for a hit and run. What even worse, the victim is dead and it was the girlfriend of a man she had accountered before, a young heir chaebol, Jo Min Hyuk (Ji Sung). This is the start of a story of revenge, where love is a test.

This drama is one of those you don't watch while it's airing. Because it drives you absolutely crazy. The first couple of episodes it isn't that bad and you just go with the flow. However then all the tragedy starts. If you aren't into heartpaining dramas then this really isn't for you. You just keep wondering, how many bad things can happen to one person. Of course we've had the story of a chaebol and a poor girl before, and yes typical korean, they do this a lot, but I liked this one. Not to mention Ji Sung. His acting is so crazy, all you see are his eyes and all the feeeels. When he is sad you are sad, when he hurts you hurt. He just conveys alll the feelings to you. Hwang Jung Eum as well did a great job again. Not much to say. I recommend this drama. Even though we've seen it before again it's in a new way, new actors bring new kinds of feelings. Definitely a great drama to watch if you feel for being all emotional :P I almost thing 16 episodes is abit short. They should have made it 20 episodes. But still alright ending and all, not gonna spoil anything :D

Bunji's verdict
Holy… Wow, this is one heck of a ride. I think I yelled most of the time while watching this since I was so shocked. I mean the twists and the turns makes you stare confused, and made me seriously think too much. I could not imagine the ending unless they all die, which usually happens in these dramas. The main leads were wow, no more said. I couldn’t take my eyes off so that says it all. And besides the two annoying clichés at the ending I have to admit it mostly is a great drama. In order not to spoil I am going to stop here and say watch it. No matter what kind of drama you like, watch it.

I Hear Your Voice Review

Title: I Hear Your Voice
AKA: I Can Hear Your Voice
Genre: romance, fantasy, comedy, thriller, crime, mystery
Episodes: 18
Broadcast period: 2013-Jun-05 to 2013-Aug-01
Cast: Lee Bo Young, Kim So Hyun, Lee Jong Suk, Goo Seung Hyun, Yoon Sang Hyun, Lee Da Hee, Jung Min Ah, Yoon Joo Sang, Kim Kwang Gyu, Choi Sung Joon, Jung Dong Hwan, Choi Dae Sung, Kim Hae Sook, Jung Woong In, Kim Ga Eun, Kim Byung Ok . . .

Park Soo Ha (Lee Jong Suk) experienced a tragedy as a child (Goo Seung Hyun), his father was murdered in front of his eyes, and because of the shock he couldn't talk in front of the court but that might not have helped anyway because he was underaged, and to make it even worse he said he could read people's minds, thus his testimony was seen as untrustworthy. However, right before the murderer Min Joon Guk (Jung Woong In) could be set free, an eyewitness showed up, the young girl Jang Hye Sung (Lee Bo Young / Kim So Hyun) stepped up infront of the court and claimed she had a photo on her mobile which showed Min Joon Guk murdering Park Soo Ha's father, which triggered an explosive reaction from Joon Guk who started attacking Jang Hye Sung, treathening to kill her as soon as he comes out of prison. More than 10 years pass, the release of Joon Guk is near and Park Soo Ha is looking for Jang Hye Sung, who is now an attourney, to keep his promise of protecting her. But Hye Sung is slowly falling for another guy, the kindhearted attourney Cha (Yoon Sang Hyun), who would do almost anything to protect Hye Sung himself.

This drama is quite weird, why? because it's not ecxiting, but you still keep watching, possibly because of Jong Suk.. ehm.. well  honestly the "read your mind through your eyes" part does not make much sense, or at least it isnt thought through. But I guess that might not be the point. The drama was not made the best, the story is alright, for me it's new, a different storyline and the message is great too "An eye for and eye, a tooth for a tooth, and the whole world would be handicapped" a great message. As well as watching the public defenders and prosecutors with their struggles when they have no choice but to take a case and fight for it as if they believe in it. They showed it well but they also showed really rare goodness with attourney Cha and his belief in good. He is almost too good. A great imagine to youngsters (lol im saying this). But yeah again, its not bad at all but isnt the superexciting drama that keeps you in your chair either. which makes it a bit hard to rate.. but the message definitely brings up the rating :P

Bunjis Verdict
Hmm, okay first of all I was not expecting much after I read Jenjis review, and  thank God for that, because I enjoyed it more than I would if I had expectations. For me the biggest hindrance for this drama was that I had the Lee Jong Suk image I had from School 2013, which made me unable to even see him in a school uniform without me hyperventilating. After calming down, and managing to pull through the first 8 episodes, my heart broke and I again was not able to watch it. I was sure I wouldn’t be able to watch it, but was told that I shouldn’t worry too much, so I continued, and surprisingly I fell for this drama. To the point of wanting the person I love to be able to read my mind.. *sigh*I have been trying to single out any mistakes, but I seriously loved this, even the trials - which by the way was so damn commercial. I didn’t mind any of it since the story would be great, and the puzzles, no matter how ridiculous, would make an awesome piece.
The reason it’s a 4/4 rating is not that it is bad, or that it isn’t a favorite, because I believe everyone should watch this. The reason is simply that comparing it to all other dramas, it just seems typical and long.
So, recommendable? Yes.
