Mrs Cop 2 Review

Title: Mrs. Cop 2
Genre: Crime, Thriller
Episodes: 20
Broadcast period: 2016-Mar to 2016-May
Cast: Kim Sung Ryung, Kim Bum, Kim Min Jong, Im Seul Ong, Son Dam Bi and Kim Hee Chan.

This drama is the sequel of the 2014 drama, though with a completely new cast.
Go Hyun Jung (Kim Sung Ryung) is recently divorcee who returned from her sabbatical in US with her son. She lives with her father who runs his own cooking blog and is a former cop. Wanting to return to work, she is introduced to Park Jong Ho (Kim Min Jung), the Team leader of the former group Team 1, in order to take up Choi Young Jin’s (Kim Hee Ae) former job. She encounters hostility and dissaprovement by the male dominant workspace, and when she is told to recruit the rest of the team or else she will be fired, she is desperate to find her team. At the same time, a young CEO Lee Ro Joon (Kim Bum) uses his power and wealth in order to maintain his position…

Okay so I know compared to the first season this review is bit duller, and to tell the truth everything except Kim Bum is dull. Yeah the stories are good, just not memorable. Yes, the cast are well written, just boring. And, agreed it has a bit more consistency compared to season 1, but I really felt they dragged the storyline on. I personally enjoyed every episode of the first season, but season 2 only had me excited for one thing: Kim Bum. At first, I disliked having him as the bad guy, because smiling pretty boy boys who are evil freak me out, but after a while I really felt like he stole the show. And considering his last drama of his that I watched was Hidden Identity, this one really took it up a notch. You’ll understand once you see it for yourself...
Other than that I felt everyone was rather mediocre, then again the first season really set the bar high.
To sum up: a lesser sequel yet watchable with mediocre performance, except for the main bad boy :D

Ho Goo's Love Review

Title: Ho Goo’s Love
AKA: Fools Love
Genre: Romance, Comedy
Episodes: 16
Broadcast period: Feb-2015 to Mar-2015
Cast: UEE, Choi Woo Shik, Im Seul Ong, Lee Soo Kyung, Choi Duk Moon, Jung Won Joong, Park Soon Chun, Choi Jae Hwan, Lee Shi Un, Oh Young Shil

Kang Ho Goo (Choi Woo Shik) has never had a proper girlfriend, with girls constantly taking advantage of his sweet, naive nature by enjoying all the benefits of dating then friend zone-ing him. His relationship-savvy twin sister Kang Ho Kyung (Lee Soo Kyung) mocks him and his best friends Kim Tae Hee (Choi Jae Hwan) and Shin Chung Jae (Lee Shi Un) for being sorely lacking in any dating skills. Do Do Hee (UEE) is an athlete on the Korean national swimming squad, and won the silver medal at the recent Asian Games. Driven and competitive, she's frustrated at never getting first place and is known for cursing a lot. The timid, bullied Ho Goo had a crush on Do Hee in their teens, when her beauty and sports cred made her the most popular girl in high school. She's the only reason he goes to their high school reunion, and when they meet again, he's surprised to learn that she remembers him. Ho Goo grabs the chance to spend time with the girl of his dreams, not knowing that Do Hee has a secret, that she's pregnant possibly by her ex-boyfriend Byun Kang-chul (Im Seul Ong), their class president and now a successful lawyer.

Ooh, I’m so happy I watched this, I was so close to just drop it in the beginning because I heard some negative stuff about it. Nope, not true, it’s a wonderful drama, that make you smile all the time. The comedy, romance, friendship everything about it had a really nice and fresh aura over it. Why it was so good? Mainly because of the originality in the drama, it had many elements we normally don’t see in a kdrama such as decent treatment of some risqué themes. It also frequently surprised me by taking a whole other direction with the plot than I expected, and can I just make a shoutout to the awesome parental characters that behave in such a refreshingly awesome ways. Ho Goo… The writer took a character that could have been just a fool and just a sicky sweet guy and made him so real and warm that it truly is a feat of genius. I think what is most amazing about Ho Goo and the way he is written and acted is that he makes everyone else in the world look like the fool that they think he is. It’s like he has got it right and we are all wrong. Do Hee which is UEE's character was okay, I had her all wrong in the beginning but towards the end I fell in love with her, she is pretty awesome.
The cutest baby award has to go to Geum Dong in this drama!

Now the two siblings have to fight for the hotel, but Mon Ne’s existence is not liked by the people behind the curtains making Mo Ne fearing her life and Jae Won becoming more and more protective over his little sister…

Okay… A full on Makjang!  For those who don’t know what Makjang is, it is a type a drama that has an outrageous storyline with a ridiculous flow and process: like your typical extreme plots of fx incest, terminal illness, birth secrets etc. I used the term Melodrama before if you can imagen.
This drama does not seem like this in the beginning but as it evolves it goes all the way, and the plot becomes so confusing and thick, you just end up shaking your head in disbelief.
The good part is the duo that is prefect in this drama, and the entire location. But they managed to make it more annoying as they usually do (hint: City Hunter) with the entire “I am not good for you”- blah blah blah. The rating is high, and that is just for one simple reason: greatly acted by ‘almost’ everyone.
So: to watch or not? Why not! No danger except you could get more stupid…

Fugitive of Joseon Review

Title: The Fugitive of Joseon
AKA: Heaven’s Order / Mandate of Heaven / Heaven’s Will
Genre: Historical, Thriller, Medical, Political, Period
Episodes: 20
Broadcast period: 2013-Apr to 2013-Jun
Cast: Lee Dong Wook, Kim Yoo Bin, Song Ji Hyo, Im Seul Ong and Park Ji Young.

When the ill king decides to abdicate from his position, the crown prince (Im Seul Ong) is left in a dilemma: if he takes the throne he’ll be seen as a bad son by not waiting for his actual time to reign, and if he denies he’ll be seen at a traitor for not accepting the king’s order. All his life the crown prince had been fighting every minister, and ill-fated people who were trying to kill him, leaving only a handful of people he can trust. One of the people he trusts is Choi Won (Lee Dong Wook), the grandson of the crown princes’ doctor who was executed after making a mistake. This has left Choi Won with resentment and disappointment in the crown prince, also not being able to forgive him for not helping him then. Working as a doctor in the royal clinic, Choi Won has been known to be a ‘quack’ for not wanting to do his job, as he is too busy taking care of his sick daughter at home.
When the king passes out, the royal clinic sends out their best acupuncturist, but the crown prince refuses him, asking for Choi Won, whom he knows is a talented doctor. But knowing the consequences if he makes a mistake, Choi Won declines, leaving a bad impression on everyone, especially Hong Dain (Song Ji Hyo) a royal nurse who is more talented than many of the male doctors in the palace. She became a nurse due to her being saved by a doctor she doesn’t remember well, but dreams of meeting.
After the crown princes’ royal doctor is murdered, evidence are starting to pile up against Choi Won, and for some reason he is not able to prove his innocence, in order to save his daughter he makes a the decision of becoming a fugitive…

Besides the fact of having an amazing cast, this drama is an incredible piece of work. I have to say I was sad that it finished, made me feel a bit empty at the end. The characters and the storyline grow on you, and you cannot take your eyes of the amazing screenplay. I know I’ve said this before, but I really am not a fan of historical dramas, because honestly I don’t understand any of it, especially everything about the king and his royal court. But I think I didn't mind this because it was very clear, also most of the story was outside the court (though the things happening inside I really didn’t understand, I didn’t really care). On the other hand, it really ends up being all political and confusing in the end, making the rating drop - they REALLY drag it out at the end.
All in all, a recommended drama.

Personal Taste Review

Title: Personal Taste
AKA: Personal Preference, Kae In's Taste
Episodes: 16
Genre: Romance, comedy
Broadcast period: 2010-Mar-31 to 2010-May-20
Cast: Son Ye Jin, Lee Min Ho, Kim Ji Suk, Wang Ji Hye, Choi Eun Seo, Im Seul Ong, Jo Eun Ji, Jung Sung Hwa, and MANY more.

Park Kae In is trying to work through her life selling her own designed and made furnitures. She lives in her father's house with her friend Kim In Hee, while her father is in England for some business (he's an architect). Park Kae In has now for a while dated Han Chang Ryul but one day as she attends her friend(Kim In Hee)'s wedding she sees that the groom is her boyfriend Chang Ryul. Later on her other friend finds her a renter as she needs money, but at first she resists but then her friend tells her that he is gay so there wont be any problem. So she agrees and she ends up living with him (Jeon Jin Ho), and he totally turns her life upside down. At first he only wants to move in because of the house her father built, cause he's an architect too.. But later on of course they start liking each other but she still thinks he is gay and he cant blow his cover cause then he'll have to move. But then when he cant take it anymore he tells he aint gay so they can be together but yeah people try to split them up (by people i mean her ex-boyfriend and ex-bestfriend) and then later when everything settles down her father comes back home and then he finds out that Jin Ho stole some blueprints and then says that he only wanted to take advantage of his daughter and then Kae In finds out but she still wants to believe Jin Ho but he cant deny it cause it was his intention at first but then he fell in love with her and so lots of things happen but of course it all ends great. :P

Well i actually liked this drama, it was reeeally funny and had really cute moments and it is 2 people loving each other and fighting for their love, and not like in many other dramas where they dont even know whether they are in love. The only bad thing about it might be that there are soooooo many people involved. I'll try to explain.. u see.. Park Kae In likED Chang Ryul and is having a bit hard time letting go. But he likED her EXbest friend Kim In Hee and now he is back to liking her. But her Exbestfriend Kim In Hee is trying to steal her new "boyfriend" Jin Ho. But Jin Ho is cool and always turns her down cuz he only likes Park Kae In. Now, there is this director at the company where Park Kae In has just been hired, he is gay and likes Jin Ho, and when he found out he was "gay" too he tried to like.. get in a relationship with him, but then Jin Ho can takes it anymore cause he's kinda old and creepy so he tells everyone he isnt gay anyway. But the director is okay cuz he supports him and Park Kae In and tries to help them. Then there is also this girl who has been liking Jin Ho since she was 7. And she even sleeps at his place. Annnd. There is this guy at Jin Ho's company who like her. And Jin Ho's mother doesnt approve of their (Jin Ho and Kae In) relationship.. so im just telling,, its really complicated but worth to watch,, lots of fun..

Bunji's Verdict:
This is by far one of the best ideas for a drama that I’ve seen in a long time, and it turns out great. Even though I felt this drama was lacking, and I can’t put my finger on what it is, but when I think back on several occasions in the drama, I can’t help myself loving it.
I expected Lee Min Ho to be “Gyu Jin Pyo-like” or me not to be able to differentiate him from that role, but to be honest, he was far more believable as Jin Ho. Okay, yeah I don’t like Boys Before Flowers and I to be honest am an anti-BBF, but Lee Min Ho was pretty amazing as “the Korean Domiyoji”, so I didn’t mind him in BBF. Him acting in such a different character and portraying Jin Ho made me fall for him, like at episode 2.. That has never happened, except for once (hint: Akanishi Jin – though with Akanishi it was crush at first sight).
The female lead, Gae In, was okay. Loved her character, pretty unusual Korean lead, but as she started to “become a woman instead of a girl”, I became a little annoyed.
And I agree with lumpy up there, there are WAAAAAAAY to many involved, and the feelings are swaying WAAAAAY to many times, but heck, the typical Korean story lines are: dislike -> friendship -> interests -> love -> betrayal -> misunderstanding -> explanation -> avoidance -> clearing all the mess. So going all the way, there HAD to be some reasons for the betrayal and explanations, right? What better is there than guy nr 1 loving the male lead, woman nr 1 hating the female lead, guy nr 2 loving the female lead, woman nr 2 loving the male lead, guy nr 3 loving woman nr 2, guy nr 2 hating the male lead and woman nr 1 wanting the male lead. Confused? Hey, I had to read this 6 times...
