Mo Hwi Cheol (Oh Ji Ho) is a con artist without a single care of anyone but himself. When he is arrested for selling a fake painting to mob boss, his two partners are saved from the mob boss, but don’t know how to get him out. Not until Geum Bi knocks on their door. Yoo Geum Bi (Heo Jung Eun) is a 10-year-old girl who has been abandoned by her aunt, leaving her only with an address and a name to go to: Geum Bi’s father, Mo Hwi Cheol. After saving her father from jail time, Geum Bi starts living at Hwi Cheols House, much to his displease. While living there she manages to ruin one of their cons: a recluse rich heiress by the name of Ko Kang Hee (Park Jin Hee).

This creates another whirlwind in Hwi Cheols life, as he now must manage lying to Kang Hee and not having Geum Bi tell everyone the truth…

When I heard about this drama I was 100 percent sure that I would love it. And I was right.

It has all the good stuff in it: heartfelt story, great acting and most of all it is very real (as real as a drama can get). I like that they chose beginner father Oh Ji Ho for this role, as I would imagine him being that fatherly with his child in the future when she gets that age, which makes it even more cute.

As the female lead goes, I gotta say I don’t really recall her from other roles, so this was just another female lead doing the very typical Korean female lead kind of acting, and a very typical to be honest. I don’t really feel the Korean female actors have any variety of characters... They all seem alike. The little girl though, she was great! I was quite amazed while watching – though I can’t remember if I’d seen her before.

Anyways, I loved this drama and I would recommend it to anyone.

Eun Dae Gu (Lee Seung Ki), Uh Soo Sun (Go Ah Ra), Park Tae Il (Ahn Jae Hyun) and Ji Gook (Park Jung Min), are the new recruits at Gangnam Plice Station, otherwise known as the P4. Only trained detectives get to work at the speciel violent crime unit at the station, but because of a new proposal, they want to train new rookies. These four rookies were chosen, despite their lack of enthusiast nor passionate of their job, they all joined the crime squad of various reasons. Eun Dae Gus one and solely reason to join the police force was to revenge his mother whom was killed right in front of his eyes. The target is the teams leader, the erratic and hot headed Seo Pan Suk (Cha Seung Won), who wants nothing more than to wash his hands off of the incompetent new recruits.

I’m so glad I finally watched this drama, it’s been on my To-Watch list since it came out, and it bugged me so much that I still haven’t watched it. You know, those kind of dramas when you missed the WATCH sign, they go back to your list and stay there foreeeever. So recently I saw a drama MV about it, and it was really cute and I already had it on my pc, so I just started it right away. Two days after I was done! It felt like a stone fell from my heart, although I definitely enjoyed the drama, but just the fact that I’m done with it was more overwhelming. Well, now to the drama itself, it was very entertaining, and the rookie foursome was so lovable and great together that I feel like the show sort of locked into that group chemistry. Ahn Jae-hyun had a great rapport with Park Jung-min and they had the most endearing bromance of the show. I love the kinds of roles Go Ara is taking on now, and she’s proving herself to be lively at comedy and drama alike. Although her  character Soo-sun didn’t get as much development as Dae-gu did, but their relationship was so sweetly giving and supportive. I loved that their relationship grew very naturally out of being partners, and that they were always equals who respected each other. Cha Seung-won and Lee Seung-gi had such great chemistry with each other and with the cast, that they made me keep watching despite a very obvious plot. Cha Seung-won is truly gifted at turning on a dime from comedy to heartfelt drama, and there’s so much emotion he plays in silent looks that goes beyond what’s written on the page. I don’t know how he does it, but he says nothing, and I can read regret and sorrow and longing and gratitude and pride in his eyes. All in all a drama that should be watched because of the actors, not the plot.

Bunji's Verdict

Like Kamji this drama was sitting on my computer for a very long time, after I had watched episode 1, and I had noticed that this drama was way too typical. After finally finishing it, it really is one of those typically long and quite dragged dramas, in which you do follow and understand most of it, but when thinking back you really don’t remember all the twist and turns. And the fact that there are about 2 lead stories following one another makes it complicated, but also the several sub stories that come along too.

The actors are quite good, even the newbie actors, but I have to be honest they were a bit lacking, though that might be because I was completely infatuated by Seung Wons acting, so the bar was kind of high.

The screen play was kind of dragged as said before, but a bit unnaturally since there were so many twists, and also the entire feud with the prosecutors made the story slow down to the point where I just felt I should stop right there. On the other hand everything else was okay, it was really an enjoyable story.

So do I recommend it? Yes, I do as it is a pretty nice police drama, even though it isn’t an OCN drama.

Please Marry Me Review

This drama revolves around 4 couples where one of each couple is a member of the Kim family.

Kim Jong Dae (Baek Il Sub) is a father of three grown up children, and is married to Oh Soon Ok (Go Doo Shim) a diligent and nice woman. But this doesn’t stop him from getting butterflies in his stomach when he meets his first love again. Kim Tae Ho (Lee Jong Hyuk) a newly appointed professor is the oldest son of the family, married to happy and bright Nam Jung Im (Kim Ji Young) whom he has lost his attraction in. This also made him look at the much younger and single coworker, whom he imagines and dream about every day, and eventually gets noticed by his wife and the two divorce. Kim Yeon Ho (Oh Yoon Ah) is a teacher and the second oldest and the only daughter of the family, with only one goal: to marry a rich man. This goes wrong when she falls for the poor single father Han Kyung Hoon (Han Sang Jin), who is the father of one of her students. Lastly is there is Kim Kang Ho (Sung Hyuk) the familys youngest, and the one called out to be the failure of the Kim’s. He somewhat fulfills that role until he meets Yoo Da Hye (Lee Da In) who adores and admires him for his honest and naïve personality. The two befriend each other and eventually fall in love, and by accident become pregnant.

The drama follows Jung Im’s revenge of becoming so famous that her ex-husband will regret divorcing, but also the family fighting the social situations as infidelity, divorce, premature pregnancy and marrying to the poor.

After dragging this on for 4 years (yes I started watching this in 2010), I finally finished this push-and-pull/melo drama. Even though I spent a lot of episodes just wanting this to finish, I gotta admit I did end up missing the family. I guess that happens after these long ones: I really felt that I was saying goodbye to someone I knew. The storyline is much alike the KBS daily dramas, yet it has a different feel: it kind of is happy and funny, but knows when to be sad (which also might be because it is 4 years old).

The cast is quite likeable, and dislikeable, which makes them great actors if you ask me. And not like the typical Korean overdramatic “trying-to-hard-to -become-so-hateful-making-you-roll-your-eyes” LOL.

All in all an okay drama.

God of Study Review

Kang Suk Ho (Kim Soo Ro) is sort a different lawyer: when he has a case, he'll put 100% effort into it, meaning EVERYTHING, which also means if he looses a case, he looses all. As he changes office once again, he gets a case about a school, whom he is familiar with; his high school. The school is known as "the trash school", where students dont do any effort in studies, and the teachers have given up on the students. The case he is given, is about the closing down of the school and changing it to a private school, which means all 'usual' students will be changed to other schools.
Kang Suk Ho decides to take the case, but instead of helping with the change, he wants to change the schools reputation, by making 5 students enter "Chun-Ha-Dae University" - Koreas most prestigious college. Jang Ma Ri (Oh Yoon Ah) has taken on the school after her father, ever since had fallen into a coma, but optimistic she isn't. In the matter of fact, she feels as if she is thrown into something that she hates, taking responsebility, so she is more than willing to do the change to private school, but ends up being persuaded by Suk Ho. Suk Ho's first meeting with the leader, Hwang Baek Hyun (Yoo Seung Ho), happens as Baek Hyun delivers food to Suk Ho's office, where Baek Hyun pulls a prank on Suk Ho. Baek Hyun is living alone with his grandmother, who always dreamed of Baek Hyun being a top student, but it happens that they're loosing their home, which Suk Ho uses as his advantage, and makes him join the special class. Other than Baek Hyun there are 4 other students that join: Gil Pul Ip (Go Ah Sung), childhood friend of Baek Hyun, and has always tried her best at studing. She lives with her mother, who owns a bar, and has an affair with a married man. The reason for her joining is her not wating to become like her mother. Hong Chan Doo (Lee Hyun Woo), childhood friend of both Baek Hyun and Pul Ip, and has always had a secret crush on Pul Ip. He loves dancing and has givin up on all kind of study. His father has always made all his decisions for him and has been very strict with him, whereas his mother is loving and caring and tries to support him, but fails as she cant say anything against her housebend. He joins the class together with Oh Bong Goo, because he wants more. Oh Bong Goo (Lee Chan Ho) is the son of resturant owners, who believe that Bong Goo isnt smart in any way. Bong Goo loves studying on the other hand, and joins because he want to study and do better. Lastly there is Na Hyun Jung (Ji Yeon, T-ara), she is the daughter of busy people, meaning parents that are too busy and simply dont care about her. She has a 'stalker-ish' crush on Baek Hyun, thats mainly the reason for her to join the class.
Han Soo Jung (Bae Doo Na) is a pasionate teacher, who LOVES all her students. She hates Kang Suk Ho, so she makes a deal with him: if 5 stundents vulenteerely join the 'special class', she will become the assistant teacher..

This has become one of my favorite dramas. I remember the japanese series "Dragon Zakura" which was the the storyline behind God of Study, and I loved it. God of Study is mainly the same as Dragon Zakura, but a little different. The korean version has focus on the study and relationship between the characters, whereas the japanese focuses on study and humanity (meaning what does it mean being a fellow human and friend). I love both, but the korean was great. It was fun, sad and interesting, and has less focus on the love story, which I perfer. Usually when watching korean dramas, I get annoyed; firsty, because the lovestories are too nauseating, secondly, the guys always seem to be hurt more than the girls. This drama did the opposite. The supporting girl was sad, not insane! Love it! The actors were fun and perfect for their roles, but my favorite would be Yoo Seung Ho, portraying Hwang Baek Hyun. Ive seriously never seen an actor crying, and still be able to cry cool and look cool aswell.. Hands down for you!
On another note, hot-korean-deliquents fighting and crying, yes please!! hehe.. verdict:
