Hong Na Ri (Soo Ae) is a middle-aged flight attendant who suddenly comes home to find her deceased mother's husband, Go Nan Gil (Kim Young Kwang), has decided to live in her house. The problem is her mothers husband is three years younger than Hong Na Ri. Go Nan Gil runs a dumpling shop inherited from his late wife, where the shop and Na Ris house are located on a hotly disputed land.

During this drama I had so much to say about it. I should have kept notes, because now that I have to write the review nothing comes to mind.
One thing for sure is that they really wanted it to be a suspense drama, but failed miserably. The first 10 episdodes they kept hinting at a dark secret that would throw our lead actress into some real distress. However the last 6 episodes instead of a big revelation of the past (which they make you really curious about), they just dodge the whole thing and trying to put an end to the story. For one thing it made me disappointed and another: what a huuuuge waste of time. While watching the drama it’s enjoyable, and you like seeing the lead actress tumbling through life and trying to figure out how to get out of her midlife crisis. The lead actor also did a splendid job as the step-father despite his young age. However, it’s only when you finish it, you feel incomplete and with so many unanswered questions.

D-day Review

This drama is about a natural disaster striking Seoul, and we follow a group of doctors and firefighters as they are trying to help and save the citizens, but also about the social and political consequences arising due to the situation.

Lee Hae Sung (Kim Young Kwang) is an empathetic doctor doing his best for all his patients, but also a very competent one. After he loses his father in a car accident and his mother got into a coma, he accepts the ill treatment from his chief so his mother can stay inside the hospital where he works. The chief of the hospital, Mirae University Hospital, is only concerned about the reputation and economic of the hospital, which is where the two opinions collide.

Jung Ddol Mi (Jung So Min) is 3rd year resident at a university hospital in Busan, but when there was talk about moving a patient to Seoul she offered to go, on her own: wanting to meet her idol Han Woo Jin (Ha Suk Jin), who happens to be a college friend of Hae Sungs, but also someone who agrees with the chief of the hospital.

After saving a patient’s life, ignoring authority Lee Hae Sung is transferred to a smaller hospital, and at the same time, the earth starts to shake. Suddenly a crane falls into a sinkhole, and all hell breaks loose…

Hmm, I am not sure I am doing this drama justice with that type of summary, but it is incredibly hard not to spoil anything.

I personally am a huge fan of disaster stories; both movies and TV shows. Therefore, I was very excited about this when I found out about it. I also like the idea of it being about doctors and firefighters, as we usually don’t have that view – or at least I haven’t seen any with it – that shows us about their struggles and situations.

Kim Young Kwang is a very talented and handsome actor, whom I liked for quite a while now, ever since White Christmas I think, so seeing him in this character was amazing. I was afraid they would make him like this perfect guy/hero who saves the day, so I was more than happy when they showed his human side every so often. Jung So Min is one of those actresses that I can’t stand, not because she’s annoying or ugly, but because I didn’t understand why she would be acting as she is horrible at it. Made me confused about the casting. However, to be fair, the dramas she had acted in where quite bad: that said this actually shows a bit of improvement. Not that she is a favorite actress now, but she is decent and tolerable here.

The only thing that I didn’t enjoy in this drama was amount of politics involved and the feud between the two male actors, and the chief. Then again, it started with a bang; they can’t continue all the way like that.

So do I recommend this drama? Hell yes!

Kamji’s Verdict 

I am not sure where to start with this drama as this is an amazing drama. Probably one of the best dramas of 2015 if not the best. I could talk about how great this drama is for a long period of time, but I will try to make this review as short as I can. I really enjoyed watching this drama i'm shocked it's not popular, everything about it was fun, exciting and damn it could keep you glued to your laptop. There are some things this show has done very well, and that has largely been in the cinematography and the cast. I really appreciated the way everyone made their roles as believable as possible, and I especially loved the chemistry that came from the different characters. I really loved the relationship between the two main leads, but I wish we had seen more romance between them. In addition, like everyone else who watched this drama, I agree with the overdone enmity between the director and our reckless and skillful doctor. They could have turned it down a bit, I mean it goes on for 20 episodes! Everything else was good. Double recommended!

The memories of pain and love shape our reality and personality, hence they can be used to find healing in counseling. This is the story of psychiatrist Mo Ian (Kim Young Kwang), who specializes in hypnosis treatments. He meets an eccentric, 4-D office girl, Lee So Dam (Park Sandara), and through the process of treating and counselling her, he finds a way to heal his own wounds.

A sweet love story between two people who needed some healing. I loved it. I wasn’t expecting anything, after all it’s a short webdrama. Usually I don’t watch webdramas, however I was interested in Sandara Parks, so I gave it a shot. Now I just wish they turned it into a full-length drama. The story was cute and realistic, of course there were some issues here and there, and the storyline were lacking, but isn’t that what webdramas is all about. There were many scenes, which made my heart flutter and me punching a pillow. Aiguu I’m a sucker for romance. I never realized how handsome Kim Young Kwang actually is… and tall!  Sandara Park is actually quite a good actress, I hope she gain success in that field too, and I’m looking forward to her next project. The episodes are maximum 13 minutes long, so if you have a free afternoon, I do recommend it.

A young group of people in their 20’s is working hard to become reporters at prestige’s TV-stations, as they report they cry and get hurt by the truth and realize that as reporters they must only tell the truth.
Ki Ha Myung (Lee Jong Suk) learned this at a very young age, where his father, a very respectable rescuer, was overnight framed by the news, and depicted him as coward, which resulted in nine other rescuers death. This lie destroyed his family, his mother committed suicide with Ha Myung, but he survived and was rescued by an old man, he took him in as his son and changed his identity to Choi Dal Po, and there he stayed at an island where he wouldn’t listen to the news. One day the old man’s newly divorced other son and his daughter moves in with them. However, that accident led to Ha Myung growing up with hatred for reporters especially reporter Cha Ok (Kang Shin).

Oh god, I can’t write that plot better unless I’m going to spoil something, and that i reeeeally shouldn’t do, since this is a drama I’m sure you would love because of all its surprisingly plot twists.
Though her character didn’t get nearly as much development as the hero did, Park Shin-hye’s performance was the one that stood out in this drama, that was a BIG surprise for me since I’m not a big fan of hers (actually I have too much against her), but she really convinced me of her acting abilities. She does funny in an effortless way, and made In-ha so lovable that I forgot all about the sad girl who used to get dragged around by rich assholes (man, what I wouldn’t give to wipe Heirs from my memory). It’s so nice to have her playing a strong female character, and so charmingly at that. I have to mention the chemistry too, wow.. they left me breathless accountable times, not fair seriously, not fair!  All the actors did a great job depicting their characters, from the broadcast station to the family, everyone made you love them (and hate them), and they liteally dragged you into their world. Somehow I had to bid the drama farewell, 20 episodes was too short, before I knew it I was done, it was only after the aftereffects of the drama I realized I got to send the show off with a feeling of satisfaction and lots of warm fuzzies to spare. Isn’t that what a great drama is supposed to?  Thanks for the feel-good times, Pinocchio. You were the best love story between an uncle, a niece, a grandpa, and a dad ever. Strangely, not as weird as it sounds! 2015 is off to a good start, keep them coming!

Can We Get Married Review

This drama revolves around four couples who all have different struggles with marriage.

Jung Hoon (Sung Joon) and Hye Yoon (Jung So Min) are a young couple with their heads full of love. Even though Hye Yoon is quite temperamental, Jung Hoon loves her for it and even lets her use him as a punching bag. The two become engaged after Jung Hoon proposes, but suffer backlash when Hye Yoon’s money –driven mother and Jung Hoon’s overbearing mother face each other head on. Now the supposed love wedding ends up as preparation nightmare.

Ki Joong (Kim Young Kwang) and Dong Bi (Han Groo) are a couple of five years, but when their best friends Jung Hoon and Hye Yoon become engaged, Dong Bi wants more out of their relationship. To her surprise Ki Joong refuses her and tells her that he wants to break up. To make matters worse few days later Ki Joong decides to get married to his father’s business partner’s daughter, so that his father will invest in his restaurant. This should make Dong Bi move on, but her heart doesn’t want to let go.

Hye Yoon’s older sister Hye Jin (Jung Ae Yun) married a divorcee Do Hyun (Kim Sung Min) whom she became pregnant with after he cheated on his wife with her. Ever since they got married she had been treated as a slave, which she had willingly done until she one day finds out that he has been cheating on her with a younger model. This makes her question her relationship with him, and whether or not he really loves her.

The last couple is a two times divorcee Min Ho (Kim Jin Soo) and old maiden Deul Rae (Choi Hwa Jung), who despite their old age fall in love like teenagers, but wonder if they should even be doing that at their age.

The drama focuses on the theme whether a couple should get married, or should stay married, and how their mothers/families are a big part of the separation and the misery of wedding planning…

I don’t know if you understood the review, but the drama is quite easy to follow and if you miss anything, they are quite good to repeat themselves.

It is one of those classic Korean dramas about family feud and incredibly stubborn mothers (like amazing). There was a point where I felt so happy that my mother is as mild a meddler compared to these. Like these women are not the classic “envelope-with-money-giving-so-that-you-stay-away-from-my-child” kind of women, they seriously go all the way (minus the horribly illegal).

The cast was wisely chosen, except for Jung So Min, whom I basically just dislike, or rather she is just so unlikable. I don’t know if it’s because of her characters but she just annoys me, and is such a under average actress. Sung Joon, who I am seeing for the third time in a drama, is quite good here. His character isn’t cool or dashing, he’s really just a mama’s boy who doesn’t know how to stand on his own two feet.

But the reason for watching this is the two couples acted by Kim Young Kwang, Han Groo, Jung Ae Yun and Kim Sung Min. Besides the stories being well-written, well-acted, and well casted, the chemistry is so amazing that I couldn’t stop watching this drama. The two youngsters who fear love more than anything and the fighting couple was just perfect for me. A double thumps up.

Okay so do I recommend it? Yeah, for people who like this kind of theme, but it might become a bit heavy later though…

Kamji's Verdict

This drama was too heavy for me. I felt like quitting it halfway through, but I’m not a quitter! So I continued the drama, but hell no I’m going to watch that again. I have read other bloggers have reported hating all the characters and finding the plot draggy. However, I’ve also heard that it’s realistic and more nuanced and well made than the typical Kdrama romance. All I know is that it was too draggy and the storyline were stuck at one point for 10 episodes straight! Favorite thing was how realistic the characters felt. The bickering moms annoyed me at first, and they still did at the end hahah. The main couple… well, lovely chemistry, but the actress annoyed me as much as the mum did, so very bad! The only positive about this drama were Sung Joon, yet again the main actor rescued the drama from a total disaster!

Goo Kwang Soo (39, Oh Jung Se) was a successful PD of a music show, when suddenly a scandal occurred and he was demoted to a television show no one watches anyway.  The eldest son Kang Jin Goo (29, Kim Young Kwang) is known as a player and is loved by everyone from his work, but who knew he was actually walking around with a huge secret. The two youngest boys encounter a lot of problems in love, friends and dreams. How will they tackle the news about new trouble ahead of them?

A nice satisfactory drama I must say, the scenario was refreshing from your ordinary romantic comedies around this year, and the actors were very natural, they made it enjoyable to see the story unfold. Plus 9 Boys was supposed to be a 16-episode drama, everything seemed to work fine and with every episode the interest was reaching a new climax, but it was cut down to 14 episodes. To be honest, it felt a bit rushed in the last two episodes and it would have been better if they would stick to the original plan, 16 episodes so as for the drama to flow naturally without a rush and keep the depth of the storyline. Whats up with TvN and cutting their dramas lately… Anyway, I recommend this drama because it is really a sweet romantic comedy.

Hot Young Bloods Movie Review

This movie is about the youths of a small town, in the 80’s.

As the strongest female delinquent in her school Yoong Sook (Park Bo Young) has never had the time to do anything else but fight with rival schools. Forming an alliance with a rival school’s top Gwang Sik (Kim Young Kwang) she doesn’t really bother with anyone or anything else, except Joong Gil (Lee Jong Suk).

Joong Gil is the schools ultimate player whose goal is to sleep with every girl from the same year, crossing each name off after finishing with them. But for some reason Yoong Sook is the only one he doesn’t want to touch.

After a new pretty student So Hee (Lee Se Young) from Seoul arrives, Joong Gil wants to make her his, but Yoong Sook refuses to let him do so. She also wants to date him, asking him out - but Joong Gil cleanly refuses. Their relationship makes Gwang Sik jealous, threatening Joong Gil, and So Hee plays the victim in many situations infuriating Yoong Suk. To make it all worse Joong Gil refuses to believe Yoong Suk.

How will these “hot young bloods” end up?

Sorry for the weird review, but while I was writing I noticed that I had no idea what the ‘starts of conflict’ is, as it really just goes in one pace... I think. It’s quite confusing to be honest - real situation/real happening kind of movies Is really not my thing. I like when there is a real situation that’s not it, it’s more.. Like an everyday thing that I don’t like? I can’t really explain it. The movie has good acting, but the story really doesn’t have a high light, or climax call it whatever you want. It is sweet, even adorable, but kind of… I don’t know, watching 2 hours of not knowing what to hope for, is really like watching someone’s life for 2 hours.  Not bad, just not great. Jong Suk and Bo Young make a good couple, with okay chemistry. Kind of blame the script for being halfhearted though.

To sum up: good, but not all that great.

Kamji's Verdict

I watched this right after the subs were available, I couldn’t wait to see it because of Lee Jong Suk and Park Bo Young (I watched her in Wolf boy, and she was amaa’hahazing!). It was an excellent performance from both the youth and adult actors, so nothing to criticize there. But the storyline were quite typical for a movie about youth.
Honestly speaking, I actually preferred the later part of the movie to the earlier campy bits. It’s similar to how I felt about Fugitive: Plan B. With Plan B, I didn’t care so much for the camp that was rampant in its first half either, but once we got to the heart of things and people in its second half, I liked it a lot better.
The love story were cheesy, but that’s okay haha that I enjoy :b I loved the little romance there were between the teachers too. Again it’s an enjoyable movie, but not one of the best.

But due to change of her major and interest in Finances, she is unable to get a scholarship to her wanted school Harvard.  Also the fact that she lost her mother earlier that year she loses her only way of getting any money. After meeting her father for the first time and asking him for money, Yi Hyun falls asleep in her childhood home, but wakes up on the street 10 years in the future.

Wearing worn out clothes and leaking milk from her chest, Yi Hyun (Sung Yoo Ri) is shocked to see her 10 year older self, and tries to find answers - and thanks to her great brain she is able to meet the family that she had forgotten but always wanted. Ignoring the fact that she is wearing a ring and that she might be a mother, Yi Hyun decided to stay with her perfect rich family, unaware that her poor and uneducated husband Hong Kyung Doo (Yoo Joon Sang) is waiting, with their newly born child, for her to return home. What had happened in those 10 years and how did she end up marrying a man whom she’d never think about twice?

When I read about this drama I was surprised that it was from 2013 because I had never heard of it before, and 2013 is really close by. The summary intrigued me, but I never really knew about the actors, though I know about FIN.K.Ls Sung Yoo Ri. Even though I wasn’t really that satisfied with the acting (from almost everyone) I have to admit for the first time I didn’t care. The storyline is so good and the way of screen play is so great that I really didn’t mind the overacting and the awkwardness. I felt that the story was honest and quite realistic even though it was a melodrama. It’s not really a makjang - so that is what makes it quite good. It has the good parts of a makjang while not being a makjang.

I’d rather not spoil anything, so to put it simply I like it and I do recommend it for people who like good story.

White Christmas Review

This drama special is about 7 students and one teacher of Susin High School, an independent private school with the 1% of all Korean top students. Anything except studying is forbidden, and they are rating by points they get while attending school.
On a 8 day vacation - from the 24th Dec, 7 students: Park Moo Yul (Baek Sung Hyun) the schools ‘goody’ known for good behavior and has never broken a rule, Yoon Eun Sung (Esom) known as the prettiest girl in the school and liked by everyone, Yoon Su (Lee Soo Hyuk) known as ‘Angel’, because his father donated loads of money to the school and like that managed to occupy a spot, Choi Chi Hoon (Sung Joon) the schools smartest kid never leaving the number one spot at school ranking and the one Moo Yul is struggling to beat in any test, Jo Young Jae (Kim Young Kwang) hated by all students for his patronizing personality and ‘bully’ attitude, Yang Kang Mo (Kwak Jung Wook) who films everything and everyone, but has a handicap, he has and earplug, and lastly Lee Jae Kyu (Hong Jong Hyun) the only one that doesn’t seem to fit in the bunch since no one knows him. The teacher Yoon Jong Il (Jung Suk Won) got the task to take care of the students during the break, but is shortly joined by a psychologist Kim Yo Han (Kang Sang Kyung)who was involved in a car accident close by, and seeks refuge at the school, with a slight head injury.
None of the students like each other and try to stay out of each other’s ways, they at one point find out that they all got a mysterious black letter, written exactly the same way. At first most of them are treating it as a joke, but as time passes by, Moo Yul gets interested in it, and is surprised that all 7 are involved. While trying to figure out the letter, another school mate happens to be at the school, Kang Mi Reu (Kim Woo Bin), the schools dare-devil, who is suspended and wants to make Young Jae, whom he believes is responsible for it, pay for it. All that is put aside, when someone is murdered, and the telephone lines aren’t working.
Now they are stranded in the middle of nowhere, and with a murderer amongst them…

I’m sorry, I was really trying to cut it down, and it somehow became too reveling, then I wrote a lot, and yeah, less revealing: P Any ways, this drama is brilliant, with a brilliant cast (no idols) and amazing storyline. Though I have to admit, I have no idea how on earth it managed to escalate that fast without me rolling on the floor crying. Seriously, like every episode made my stomach turn, not being nauseous, but scared (in a good way) because I really would never know what I’d do in their position. I didn’t like the actress, though she grew on me, and some of the other actor did annoy me in the beginning, but as you watch them you simply wish for their well-being. I really recommend this, sincerely. It is very psychological, but it uses 8 episodes too the very fullest, and the tension does not let you down in any way. The only reason it’s not completely full rated is that there are times when I just knew what was going to happen, like 80% of the time that is.

Hmm, I really don’t know about this. Would you be surprised if I say I didn’t quite like it… First of all the show is anything but a traditional kdrama.  It isn't romantic.  It isn't funny.  It isn't melodramatic, either.  It's bleak, terrifying, heartbreaking, and disturbing all at once. The one thing that made this series work so well was the cast.  This drama possibly had the best cast I have seen on any kdrama--ever.  I don't say that lightly.  It was a cast of mostly teenagers, but each and every character (okay, with one exception) was layered and complex.  Even the villain of the series had interesting moments of depth that steered clear of caricature.  While I didn't like all of the characters, I grew to understand them.  The cast members were phenomenal at portraying characters who were so human that you hurt for them.
I think maybe what ruined the show for me was that everyone kept saying how dark and terrifying it is… but it wasn’t. I mean everything was perfect, the cast, the plot (I liked), how it was directed, most of the things was good. I just can’t put my finger on one negative thing, so why did it leave me with an unpleasant feeling that it wasn’t that great? I guess I’ll just ponder over that for now.

Years later Han Tae Yang is still waiting for Jin Jin Shim, and is struggling to support his sister and himself. But soon things changes and he starts working at the market where he meets Mok Ga On, a name he knew before. Will he ever fulfill his dream? Will he ever meet Jin Shim again? Well he starts with 4 other friends and fights his way up!

The reason I watched this drama? Ji Chang Wook. I loved Warrior Baek Dong Soo so I had to watch another of his dramas. Honestly I was disappointed. It wasnt the greatest acting, I love his character but this was just getting a bit too much, maybe because the drama has so many sad scenes I got tired of seeing his sad expression lol. Anyway Im starting to like the actress Wang Ji Hye, I didnt like her before tehee,, and yeah it is the story of rich vs poor again but not the same way, its about a psychic mother who want revenge and she is seriously sick. The whole drama revolves around her being crazy and doing all sorts of things to get rid of Tae Yang. But still it wasnt bad at all. Actually its a really good drama. Made me want to fight for something (still dont know what,, should I become a farmer? lol). Well it is a true story after all, of a man starting from nothing, the bottom, and fighting his way up while going against some big stupid rich people, and help from other rich people lol. And I soooo loved the fathers character, he is like the perfect father, but who does he have to have such a uughr wife! And also how the 5 of them, Tae Yang and his friends work together was really nice watching.

Bunji's Verdict

(Blank). That was my reaction. This was one heavy drama, and on top of that long… like really long. It has great actors and the screenplay seemed pretty okay, but damn the main love story was clean bull shit. Pardon my language, but I really sucked, and left me cheering for the couple NOT to end up together (eventhough I wanted to two supporting actors - Dan Bi and Seol Woo - to end up together), I really thought that it was completely unnecessary and would have been amazing if they had just made a story about a guy and his friends trying to start a business. I really have no idea why they would add such a lousy story as a main. I mean a lot of the side stories were great - especially compared to the main. This was one of THE hardest to finish, but I had to since it’s Lee Gwang Soo :D Though I have to give credit to the rest of the drama: every back story was great, every obstacle was intuiting, and every solution was decent.

That said, I wouldn’t even bother unless you want melodrama, with a tummy ache.
