Jo Deul Ho (Park Shin Yang) lives as a beggar ever since he was betrayed by his chief. He lost his wife, home and position as a well-known prosecutor at the high court. He has no ambition left nor any wish for revenge, as his only reason to stay alive is so he can see his daughter get married when the time comes.

Everything changes when he runs into Lee Eun Jo (Kang So Ra) who is chasing a pickpocket. When finally catching the pickpocket he is surprised to find out that the pickpocket is his fellow orphan Kang Il Goo (Choi Jaw Hwan) from the same orphanage. At first Il Goo refuses to see Deul Ho, but soon warms up to him, only to pass away shortly after. Il Goo’s death leaves Deul Ho enraged and he decides to get to the bottom of the murder, which leads him back to schemes and corruption he had faced before, and had lost. This time he is determined to have justice prevail…

This drama I watched as it aired due to the quite interesting screen play and intriguing story. Though I found 20 episodes to be pretty long I have to say that the overall drama is really good. I remember Park Shin Yang from SIGN and I loved him there, so this I had to watch. I was quite annoyed at Kang So Ra’s character, I found her to be over acting. I haven’t really watched much of her dramas, but this is not something I would pin her as a good actress for. Generally, the female cast was just so typical and fairly dull, except for Hwang Suk Jung – the one that acted as Mr. Jo’s assistant – she was quite fun.

The drama is pretty typical as a Korean law/romance drama goes, but other than that I liked following all the legal stuff. I wasn’t really interested in the coupling or other things like that. So I enjoyed it.

To sum up, a typical Korean drama with a little bit of 2010s.

Descendant Of The Sun Review

Yoo Si Jin (Song Joong Ki) is the captain of a South Korean Special Force unit. He catches a motorcycle thief Kim Gi Beom (Kim Min Seok) with Sergeant Major Seo Dae Young (Jin Goo). The thief is injured during his capture and is sent to the hospital. Dae Young realizes his cellphone was stolen by the thief and goes to the hospital along with Si Jin to retrieve his cellphone. In the emergency room, Si Jin meets Dr. Kang Mo Yeon (Song Hye Kyo) for the first time. He falls in love with her immediately. Mo Yeon mistakenly assumes Si Jin is part of the thief's criminal gang due to his nickname "Big Boss", which is actually his callsign. He proves to her that he is a soldier with the help of army doctor Yoon Myeong Joo (Kim Ji-won).

It’s been nearly three weeks since the finale of Descendants of the Sun, one of the reasons I enjoyed it, among the various lures, was the visual glory of the cast and location shoots. Descendants of the Sun might not be the best or most romantic or most exciting drama ever made, but it touches upon subjects that most asian dramas don't touch upon, and I really loved that. People who say this drama has no story, are obviously missing the point. Just because it doesn't deal with evil in-laws, revenge plots, star-crossed lovers, amnesia, or noble sacrifice, doesn't mean there is no story. The lovely supporting cast, the amazing chemistry between the four leads, the suspense and tragic disasters, the heartbreak and comedic moments, that even though you just shed a river of tears will still make you laugh. And, lastly, can I just say, the adorableness that is Song Joong Ki!!!!  I've loved him ever since Sungkyunkwan Scandal, and I am SO HAPPY he got this role! I whole-heartedly recommend this drama, and I assure you, if you appreciate the little and sincere moments and thoughts brought onto screen, you will love this.

Pinocchio Review

A young group of people in their 20’s is working hard to become reporters at prestige’s TV-stations, as they report they cry and get hurt by the truth and realize that as reporters they must only tell the truth.
Ki Ha Myung (Lee Jong Suk) learned this at a very young age, where his father, a very respectable rescuer, was overnight framed by the news, and depicted him as coward, which resulted in nine other rescuers death. This lie destroyed his family, his mother committed suicide with Ha Myung, but he survived and was rescued by an old man, he took him in as his son and changed his identity to Choi Dal Po, and there he stayed at an island where he wouldn’t listen to the news. One day the old man’s newly divorced other son and his daughter moves in with them. However, that accident led to Ha Myung growing up with hatred for reporters especially reporter Cha Ok (Kang Shin).

Oh god, I can’t write that plot better unless I’m going to spoil something, and that i reeeeally shouldn’t do, since this is a drama I’m sure you would love because of all its surprisingly plot twists.
Though her character didn’t get nearly as much development as the hero did, Park Shin-hye’s performance was the one that stood out in this drama, that was a BIG surprise for me since I’m not a big fan of hers (actually I have too much against her), but she really convinced me of her acting abilities. She does funny in an effortless way, and made In-ha so lovable that I forgot all about the sad girl who used to get dragged around by rich assholes (man, what I wouldn’t give to wipe Heirs from my memory). It’s so nice to have her playing a strong female character, and so charmingly at that. I have to mention the chemistry too, wow.. they left me breathless accountable times, not fair seriously, not fair!  All the actors did a great job depicting their characters, from the broadcast station to the family, everyone made you love them (and hate them), and they liteally dragged you into their world. Somehow I had to bid the drama farewell, 20 episodes was too short, before I knew it I was done, it was only after the aftereffects of the drama I realized I got to send the show off with a feeling of satisfaction and lots of warm fuzzies to spare. Isn’t that what a great drama is supposed to?  Thanks for the feel-good times, Pinocchio. You were the best love story between an uncle, a niece, a grandpa, and a dad ever. Strangely, not as weird as it sounds! 2015 is off to a good start, keep them coming!
