The Lover Review

Title: The Lover
Genre: Romance, Comedy
Episodes: 12
Broadcast Period: Apr-2015 to Jun-2015
Cast: Oh Jung Se, Ryu Hyun Kyung, Jung Joon Young, Choi Yeo Jin, Takuya Terada, Lee Jae Joon, Kang Kyun Sung

A story that depicts four different couples living together in one apartment complex.
Room 609: Both in their thirties, Oh Do Si (Oh Jung Se) is a voice actor and Ryu Doo Ri (Ryu Hyun Kyung) is a blogger. They simply chose to live together instead of getting married, and have been sharing an apartment for two years.
Room 610: Jung Young Joon (Jung Joon Young) and Choi Ji Nyeo (Choi Yeo Jin) are a couple that's twelve years apart in age. Ji Nyeo has the personality of a penny-pinching ahjumma and basically supports her younger boyfriend in the hope that he will someday realize his dream, while Young Joon is an unemployed musician who carries around a guitar he doesn't know how to play.
Room 709: Lee Joon Jae (Lee Jae Joon) is a loner who prefers to stay at home, but is forced to find a roommate for financial reasons. He doesn't even want to exchange unnecessary small talk so he advertises for a foreigner who can't speak Korean very well. Enter Takuya, a Japanese guy on his travels. Takuya thinks Joon Jae is wasting his youth, and begins to draw him out into the world.

Hmm, I can’t decide if this were a failure or success for me. One thing I know for sure, that it was so real-to-life, meaning I found it to be so realistic, and I’m sure people that are cohabitating with someone, could relate to a lot of stuff in it. However, it just didn’t work for me. There were many hilarious things in it, but after finishing one episode, it was so hard to click the next episode. Imagine that for 12 episodes, I’m so exhausted now, although I never found myself bored with it. Oh god why does it have to be so complicated to explain, you guys get me right :b ? There can be dramas that you just can’t figure out why it didn’t click for you. Anyway there were no main story, just the fact it’s about the people living in that apartment complex. It consists of many short story, which I found to be relaxing, not complicated or anything. The actors were good too, and there were many rookies, but also some seniors, so a watchable mix. I do recommend it since, it’s something new in Kdrama-land, so why not? :B

Plus Nine Boys Review

Title: Plus Nine Boys
AKA: Age Ending in Nine Boys
Genre: Romance, Comedy
Episodes: 14
Broadcast period: Aug-2014 to Oct-2014
Cast: Kim Young Kwang, Kyung Soo Jin, Oh Jung Se, Yoo Da In, Yook Sung Jae, Park Cho Rung, Choi Ro Woon, Lee Chae Mi

A single mother with 3 boys: 9, 19 and 29 is living together with her little brother; 39. She seeks a shaman that tells her the boys in her family are cursed because of their age, now a huge disaster awaits each of them the following year. Goo Kwang Soo (39, Oh Jung Se) was a successful PD of a music show, when suddenly a scandal occurred and he was demoted to a television show no one watches anyway.  The eldest son Kang Jin Goo (29, Kim Young Kwang) is known as a player and is loved by everyone from his work, but who knew he was actually walking around with a huge secret. The two youngest boys encounter a lot of problems in love, friends and dreams. How will they tackle the news about new trouble ahead of them?

A nice satisfactory drama I must say, the scenario was refreshing from your ordinary romantic comedies around this year, and the actors were very natural, they made it enjoyable to see the story unfold. Plus 9 Boys was supposed to be a 16-episode drama, everything seemed to work fine and with every episode the interest was reaching a new climax, but it was cut down to 14 episodes. To be honest, it felt a bit rushed in the last two episodes and it would have been better if they would stick to the original plan, 16 episodes so as for the drama to flow naturally without a rush and keep the depth of the storyline. Whats up with TvN and cutting their dramas lately… Anyway, I recommend this drama because it is really a sweet romantic comedy.
