Introverted Boss Review

Title: Introverted Boss
AKA: Sensitive Boss
Genre: Comedy, Romance
Episodes: 16
Broadcast period: 2017-Jan to 2017-Mar
Cast: Yeon Woo Jin, Park Hye Soon, Yoon Park and Kong Sung Yeon.

Eun Hwan Ki (Yeon Woo Jin) is an introvert unable to look people in the eye. He has a hard time communicating, and spends a lot of time contemplating about what to say in order not to hurt people’s feelings. Due to that nature, being a CEO is impossible for him as he is unable to stand in front of a big crowd and say what is on his mind. His best friend Kang Il Woo (Yoon Park) on the other hand is an open and charismatic man, who does all the social interactions instead of Hwan Ki. Unfortunately, Hwan Ki is the more competent CEO, but due to his personality he is unable to show is, and Il Woo gets all the credit.
Chae Ro Woon (Park Hye Soo) is bubbly and outspoken theatrical actress. After her sister kills herself, she decides to start working at the company her sister worked in, to find out how and why her sister died. Her goal is to find the CEO for whom her sister worked, and outs him as a tyrant. After getting involved in an accident, she finds out that the CEO is Hwan Ki. So, she starts to work on her revenge, and due to Hwan Ki’s personality, everything he does makes him even more suspicious…

I really liked this drama because of the theme – anxiety. It is something that is taboo in Korea, so them doing it in a sense of humor made it great to see. I laughed so much and I felt sad, so I believe that the drama represents it very well. Yeon Woo Jin is amazing in this drama, and he makes it so believable that I don’t think anyone else would have done such a great job. The rest do a superb job, which makes it even better.
Though I enjoyed the back story at the beginning, it started to get ridiculous later, and especially the twist at the end made me annoyed. Also, the final scene was cute, but just completely different than what this drama was supposed to be. I mean Chae Ro Woons character went a 360 degree – I don’t want to spoil, but it was just a complete change of character. Which made the overall irritating, and didn’t make sense.
Anyways, a funny, cute and well-acted drama that I would recommend!

Age of Youth Review

Title: Age of Youth
AKA: Hello, My Twenties!
Genre: Melodrama, Comedy, Romance, Mystery
Episodes: 12
Broadcast Period: Jul-2016 to Aug-2016
Cast: Han Ye Ri, Han Seung Yeon, Park Eun Bin, Ryu Hwa Young, Park Hye Soo, Yoon Park, Choi Duk Moon

University students Yoon Jin Myung (Han Ye Ri), Jung Ye Eun (Han Seung Yeon), Song Ji Won (Park Eun Bin), Kang Yi Na (Hwa Young) and Yoo Eun Jae (Park Hye Soo) share a house. Jin Myung is busy supporting herself financially and studying. She suffers from lack of sleep. Ye Eun is devoted to her boyfriend, she is clear about what she likes or not. Ji Won has a bright personality and likes to drink. Yi Na is popular due to her beautiful appearance. Eun Jae is timid, but she has an unique taste for men.

At first I thought this was a short peaceful drama empathizing how university students has it, but that’s only the cover. Underneath it lies a web of mysteries involving all the girls. his is not only a drama. They showed the real life. I likes it, I got me interested right away, and it was nice to get away from all the melodramas, and suffocating love stories. The screenplay and story evolved smoothly and the suspense was kept all the way till the end. So yes a very entertaining drama.
