Seito Shokun! Review

Title: Seito Shokun!
AKA: Attention Students! / Dear Students!
Genre: School drama
Episodes: 10
Broadcast period: 2007-Apr-20 to 2007-Jun-22
Cast: Uchiyama Rina, Shiina Kippei, Horikita Maki,Hongo Kanata, Okada Masaki, Watanabe Ikkei, Kobayashi Nenji, Masana Bokuzo Ishii Masanori, Uehara Misa, Shirota Yu …

Naoko (Uchiyama Rina) is the new homeroom teacher for class 2-3, a class that doesn’t trust teachers and who teachers have given up on teaching. There is a secret hidden in the school, the secret about why the students don’t trust any teachers. Naoko, the happy energetic teacher is very different from the rest of the teachers. She will give her everything to make her students happy and enjoy the time they have together in high school, but will she be able to break through to the students and make them trust a teacher again?

The drama had me right away. I usually like high school dramas but I can’t watch the same story again. However this one was different in its own way. The teacher couldn’t bond with her student right away and really had to fight for it till the end. She wasn’t just preaching but really tried to convince her students. It’s a quite serious drama, it’s not a comedy but really tries to deal with the problems. It takes the student’s side and really wants us to understand why the students cant trust anyone. They feel like only they can protect themselves and no one else understands them or wants them their best. I wasn’t bored at any part of the drama it was interesting watching. Want a school drama/teacher fighting (lol) then this is the one. Really nice.

Bunji's Verdict
This was one of my first, Japanese dramas ever watched, and I loved it. I loved it so much that I think I re-watched it 5 times, which I never do when it comes to dramas. When I started watching dramas, especially Japanese, I just watched High School dramas, meaning I’ve basically watched almost all of them. Out of all, this one was one of my fave, even beating Gokusen.
The drama is different than like Gokusen or even Misaki Number One, it’s not humor based at all. No fun scenes at all, but still catchy. It’s very recommendable, ask Jenji :P

Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac Review

Title: Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesia
Genre: Drama/romance
Release date: March 27, 2010
Cast: Yuya Tegoshi, Maki Horikita, Kenichi Matsuyama, Anton Yelchin

Naomi (maki horikita) runs back to the class to get the camera, as she is on her way with the camera she suddenly falls down the stairs head first. And so she loses 4 years of her memory, the guy that helped get to the hospital Yuji (Kenishi matsuyama) she starts liking, she often meets him at school. But her best friend and co-editer at the yearbook-club Mirai (yuya tegoshi) doesnt like Yuji. A lot of things change for Naomi. She isnt the person people want her to be anymore. She breaks up with her boyfriend and starts going out with Yuji instead. She even quits the yearbook-club and instead joins a drama club. But then Yuji moves to L.A and their relationship isnt as good anymore, she visits him in L.A without her father knowing but it doesnt really help, and when she gets back she is grounded. Later she gets to know that Yuji is hospitalized and visits him. Then he tells her to forget him... And later Mirai gets sick and is hospitalized, so she joins the yearbook-club again and helps finishing the yearbook..

The movie was actually great.. Like imagine how it would be if you suddenly one day didnt know anything around you, like the last 4 years. How were you supposed to act with your friends and all the people that knew you. And how would you know who you really were. Would you just start over or try to go back to who you were. Would you take the chance to change everything. The movie was cool also the cast.. i mean like tegoshi yaay,, and L :D and the japanese accent wasnt too bad either.. (they go to an american school in tokyo) I just thought that maybe it was missing something,, like it wasnt really complete somehow.. But all in all it was a nice movie.. Nice watch.

Atashinchi no Danshi Review

Title: Atashinchi no Danshi
AKA: My boys
Genre: Comedy
Episodes: 11
Broadcast period: 2009-Apr-14 to 2009-Jun-23
Cast: Horikita Maki, Kaname Jun, Okada Yoshinori, Mukai Osamu, Yamamoto Yusuke, Seto Koji, Okayama Tomoki and Kusakari Masao.

Mineta Chisato (Horikita Maki, Hana Kimi, Kurosagi..) has been living as a homeless for some years. The reason for that is that she is being chased by debt-collectors, because her father left her a huge debt without her approval. One day as she is running away from some debt collectors a man helps her and says that he will pay her debt if she agrees to be his wife for a month. A month because he believes he only has a month left to live in. So she agrees cause there is no way she can pay the debt on her own. But she does not know what awaits her after the man dies. She now has to spend 3 months in a castle with the man's 6 sons. She has to be their mother and unless she fulfills the 10 goals the man has written her to do the debt will not be paid and all her work was for nothing. It is not an easy job she has gotten because the boys dont have a bond at all. So she has to start from the scratch and first of all make them all eat dinner together. But that is gonna be hard when one of them doesnt even live at home, the other doesnt come out of his room, the third has a fear of women aso. But somehow she manages them all to be together and finally bond. But it only gets worse when the company of the man who died is being taken over by his secretary because he wants the treasure hidden in the castle. And they can only protect the castle, their home, by fulfilling the 10 goals.

I suddenly decided to watch this drama, before i thought it was just a drama about a bunch of homeless people but after watching just the first episode i found it really funny and interesting. It's a comedy so just the thing for me. Lots of fun especially with the secretary being all weird and the boys got all different personalties. And the girl omo. Like in 1 episode she moves out and in to the castle like 5 times. She just cant decide whether to stay or not ahaha. And so fun with her father, like whenever she sees him she starts yelling at him and he immediately starts running away yelling "Do ur best to pay of the debt!" hahaha and omg there are like 5 boys who like her and she doesnt even notice haha. Anyway its definetly a drama u gotta watch, lots of fun -of course when its japanese it gotta b fun. And it like grabs ur attention right away. And thats always a good sign.. I mean who would watch a drama that gets exciting at the .. 16th episode.. gaah. Hate those kind of dramas.. especially when they spend 5 episodes explaining the past.

Ill be kind and give it ^^ :

Bunji's Verdict
Hahaha! ''She'll be kind'' - as if the drama needs kindness!! Lols, sorry.
The drama is pretty different and a lot of fun, but again very typical when it comes to Japanese dramas. Like one girl and a lot of guys, where have we heard that before? hmm, let me name a few: Hana Yori Dango 1 & 2, Hana Kimi, Yamato Nadeshiko Shinchi Henge, Gokusen 1 & 2 & 3(okay, not the same, but u get the point) and so on. So it's pretty tiring. Even though this time around, she plays the role of the mother, makes the story more fun, and the love blossoming more interesting, BUT still VERY typical..
I’m pretty fond of detailed and precise background stories, as well as interesting “why did that happen” reasoning. The 6 brothers have all different backgrounds, and different personality, which makes it totally worth watching.

Tokujo Kabachi!! Review

Title: Tokujo Kabachi!!
AKA: First Class Debater!
Genre: Comedy, Law, Romance
Episodes: 10
Broadcast period: 2010-Jan to 2010-Mar
Theme song: Troublemaker by Arashi
Cast: Sakurai Sho and Horikita Maki.

Tamura Katsuhiro (Sakurai Sho) is an assistant administrative scrivener, who hopes to become an administrative scrivener. With his strong sense of justice and 'idiot' personality, he tries to solve small cases of his neighbours. Completely opposite, Sumiyoshi Misuzu (Horikita Maki) a divorced, ex-deliquent, administrative scrivener, who hates men, will do anything in order to win. The only thing they have in common is that they fight for the 'less' fortunenet.
The story kick starts as Tamura and Sumiyoshi are fighting a case against each other, wereafter Sumiyoshi gets intersted in the firm (or in Tamura), where Tamura works. Sumiyoshi becomes an employee and Tamura's sensei...

To start of, I gotta say, I dont like law nor do I have an interess for it. The only
thing I like about lawyers is, Naruse Ryo (Maou) - Ohno Satoshi and Ren Guang Xi (Autumn's Concerto) - Van Ness Wu, as you see hot people wearing suits. And to be honest this drama didnt improve my likening, but made me - I think - respect decent lawyers. Okay, Sakurai Sho's amazing acting helped alot too, and he was pretty cool. Horikita Maki Im not a big fan of, but she is a good actress, as long as she doesn't act those 'kawai' ones. All in all, a fun watch, and great ending, gotta say, I love Sho.. (psst, I think you noticed my high rating, well thats because someone I REEEALY like guest starred, hihi... hint hint: he's the leader of Arashi)
Lols, okay, not just because of Ohno, but I really did enjoy the drama, and Sakurai's acting.. :D
