Qin Ming (Zhang Ruo Yun) is the head M.E of the Public Security Bureu of Longfan City. Known to be col, stict and harsh towards everyone around him, Qin Ming works with Lin Tao (Li Xian), the only police officer able to stand Qin Ming, in the Criminal Branch of Forensic Investigations. Unable to keep an assistant, due to his uncooperative behavior, Qin Ming changes assistants too often. When part of a body is found in barrels of frying oil, a new assistant arrives them. And to both Qin Mings and Lin Taos surprise, Li Da Bao, a female, joins. Though Qin Ming and Da Bao are at odds in the beginning, Da Bao soon proves herself to Qin Ming, and together with Lin Tao, the dynamic trio solve cases, smoothly.

At the same time, an unknown foe starts to emerge, targeting Qin Ming, and his past becomes the center of it all…

This drama was an accidental one: I found it online, while looking for crime dramas, and ended up with this one. It’s a good drama with well made stories, though a bit too unrealistic if you ask me. I know that all crime dramas are somewhat unrealistic, but this one kind of had grotesque ones. I like a well-made story as much as the next person, but compared to the quality of the stories, the bodies/props really seemed badly made. This can also ruin a bit of it, but if you don’t mind that, the acting and portrayal of the characters is great. It is serious and has funny moments - so this is your typical crime drama. It has a main story too, which is very nice, so I do have to say, it is a good overall watch.

Feng Teng (Hans Zhang) is a rich heir and the president of a giant conglomerate. He has a younger sister, Feng Yue (Zhangyang Guo Er), with a very rare blood type. Therefore, he recruits Shan Shan (Zanilia Zhao), who shares the same blood type as Feng Yue, into the company to be a blood donor. Interesting anecdotes occur when Feng Teng intentionally tries to fatten up Shan Shan, who loves eating. When Feng Teng's childhood friend, Yuan Lishu (Li Cheng Yuan) returns to the country, she is dismayed to discover that Feng Teng is in love with Shan Shan. She tries to compete with Shan Shan for Feng Teng's love. Together with Feng Teng's best friend, Zheng Qi (Huang Ming), the two tries to separate the couple by inciting conflicts.

Don’t ask me why I watched this. The plot didn’t appeal to me nor did I know the cast. I knew nothing about this drama, I just wanted some mainland drama and brush up my broken mandarin. That lead me to this drama, it’s on many peoples’ top favorite mainland drama. Why? I won’t blame the really bad execution of the whole production, because I’ve seen some great mainland dramas, where everything else triumphs that. Yet, nothing in this drama made sense for me. The whole storyline with him feeding her so they can pump her for blood now and then was really hard for me to stomach. Many loved this drama, I didn’t, so I won’t say anything bad about it, just that it’s going to be a while before I watch a mainland drama again.

KO One Return Review

While trying to escort Liu Bei (Chen De Xiu) to the Iron Dimension, Wang Da Dong (Jiro Wang) is caught in an inter-dimensional time quake, and is thrown 10 years into the future in the Gold Dimension. While trying to find his friends, Da Dong returns to KO One class, but is met with strange faces, who never heard of him or his friends. He finds out that the KO ranking, battle points and fighting power have mysteriously disappeared. The KO One class is ruled by King (Pets Tseng), and soon enough Da Dongs free-spirited personality bothers all the students – especially when he challenges King for the position as the top.

While trying to investigate the disappearance of his friends, he also tries to uncover why the KO ranking and power users have vanished…

So, first of all, I am a huge K.O. (Zhong Ji) fan, going back to the three previous seasons: K.O One, The X-Family and K.O.3an Guo. I remember watching the last season (K.O.3an Guo) and loving it, but since the fansubbers kind of went hiatus and Fahrenheit disbanded, I didn’t really pay attention on the series anymore. Imagine my surprise when I saw that the has been at least 1 season pr. year since 2012. K.O One Return is the season right after K.O.3an Guo, and it is the continuation of K.O. One (the very first season). Compared to the first season this one has grown, both in quality and acting – but it also has new faces (I guess a new idol boyband taking over Fahrenheits spot). The storyline is also good, but unfortunately it becomes confusing and quite lacking, as (like in most Chinese idol dramas) the main cast disappears from the lineup. I mean Jiro disappeared in the 14^th episode (or something like that), with 15-16 episodes to go – and he’s the main actor and story! Also, I disliked the ending – quite dull to be honest. Though I was excited to watch this drama, they really drained everything out of you after the 20 mark. It took me forever to finish.

If you are new to this ‘world’ and wondering whether or not to watch this, I won’t say go ahead as there are many other Zhong Ji seasons that are better. But if you are a fan or really liked the first season, this is one of those you need to watch in order to watch the rest.

Love Me If You Dare Review

This drama is about the romantic relationship between a criminal psychologist, Professor Simon Bo, (Wallace Huo) and his assistant Jenny Jian, ( Ma Si Chun), while they work on solving some mysterious and violent criminal cases, based on the study of the wills, thoughts, intentions and reactions of criminals to resolve the cases. Simon Bo works as the analysts/advisor of the serious criminal cases in the police department. He lost his father at an early age and moved to the United States with his mother. He has a high IQ but low EQ, as he is not good in socializing. Jenny is deeply influenced by her father, a veteran police officer on criminal investigations who died on duty. She has a great sense of justice and very observant. She works as Simon's assistant and his translator who ends up helping Simon in the criminal investigation.

My first Chinese mainland drama in a looooong time. It wasn’t bad, but not good either. I guess you can say it’s in between. I only watched 2 episodes pr. Week. So I didn’t feel like I got too much of it, or tired from it, neither did it get me excited or looking forward to the upcoming episodes. Apparently, there was a big fuzz before the start and lot of people were looking forward to Wallace Huo’s return to the small screen, so this drama had attention from the beginning. Overall it felt like a bad imitation of NCSI, the cases were really bad, and the police force in China is so messy, I really couldn’t understand that part. The only interesting thing in this drama were the relationship between Wallace Huo and Ma Si Chun, there were not really that much romance, just a little bit to keep you in the seat. Although the interesting thing about them were that weird and psychopath aura around them. They were both really weird I guess, but in an exciting way :b. All in all…. I don’t know. In between !

Bunji's verdict

I had seen this drama before as I was looking for something to watch, but didn’t want to watch since it wasn’t finished airing. When I did pick it up I really felt like I had found a good drama, though I was confused a lot of times. I am not very familiar with the Chinese actors/actresses besides the idol ones, so these actors in this one were all pretty new. I have to say the male lead, Wallace Huo is a darn good actor, but the female actress was a letdown ALL the time, and I really didn’t enjoy her on screen. It felt like one actor was trying real hard, but she just stood there awkwardly and tried to look pretty. Pretty annoying. The best friend was better at showing emotion than she was, so I was hoping those two would kick her off the team and make their own ‘kick-ass-crime-fighting-duo’-thing. I know mean, but seriously so many episodes with a dull face is just boring.

Besides that, I liked most parts; the real psychology and stories behind them, as well as the backstories. Though I found the involvement with America pretty unnecessary.

So recommendable? Yeah! Though just pretend you like the girl, worked for me.

The Prince of Tennis 2 Review

The series continues where the last season stopped, this time around the goal is the East China Competition Championship. Long Ma (Qin Jun Jie) is still on his arrogance roll, this time with a bigger chance of getting it blown as he is faced with stronger opponents, and having his father getting more and more involved with the tennis club doesn’t help much to his ego or mood. The other members face problems as well; the captain Guo Guang (Bai Xu Xu) is injured and sent to U.S.A to get treatment, the timid Da Shi (Zhang Chao) is chosen to be captain with Zhen Zhi (Wang Chuan Jun) as assistant captain, the golden pair Da Shi and Ju Wan (Mao Fang Yuan) is tested on trust, Chun Long’s (Xue Hao Wen) old injury is returning, the big talent Zhou Zhu (Chen Ze Yu) is experiencing rage, and Hai Tang (Zhang Dian Fei) feels that he’s shoved in a corner.
This season is about the meaning of tennis and the question: what is more important, having fun playing it or winning?

I like this one waaay more than the first season. There are ALOT of improvements in this season: new hairstyles (like they look waaaay younger), the dialogues are so much more reasonable than the ones from first season! And I think they got a new cameraman, like its more fun to look at the screen, AND the camera is MOVING! Do u believe it :P I mean in the first season he would actually stand still for a long time! The acting has also improved, but I think that has to do with the director, bad director = bad acting, so... As far as the story, its good, better than the first one, and the personal issues are better as well :D

Autumn's Concerto Review

Ren Guang Xi(Van Ness Wu) is rude, spoilt and pretty mean, on the outside. He doesnt believe that woman have hearts, expecially strong women like his mother, whom he blames his fathers suicide on. Liang Mu Cheng (Ady An) lost her mother short after she was born, but has always seen her step-mom as her mother. One day her father dies and leaves the family with huge debth. She and her auntie(step-mom), leave and meets her current uncle. At the age of 22, she meets Guang Xi for the first time, as he parks his car and the bus she is on, trying to break up with his current girlfriend. Mu Cheng, feeling rightous, starts to argue with Guang Xi, but he wont budge. Matters escalate, and they end up at the police station, where, mainly by the given idea of Mu Cheng, Guang Xi ends up doing community servis. Feeling humiliated, Guang Xi promises revenge, and makes a deal with his friends; to woo Mu Cheng, and get a picture with them kissing the next day. Guang Xi forces Mu Cheng on a date, since she had borrowed a book of her friend Hua Tuo Ye (Chris Wu), which is not allowed, and the book is the possesion of Guang Xi. In order to get it back, she agrees to go on a date...

I did not like it, I LOVED, with a capital L, it. Everything about it was great. From the storyline to the acting. Okay, I agree that Van Ness Wu needs to learn how to run, but either way, I never judge on appearance.. I loved the couple, the on-screen chemistry, the dialogs and even the mixed relationships. Eventough the ending was a bit draggy, it did not ruin the overall expe rience of it. Xiao Xiao Bin, the son of those two, was adorable, and probably the cutest and smartest child-actor currently in the movie industry. Mother-son relationsship was fabulous, and the family plot was worth looking at. There were actually no things, except one, that I didn't realise, like, you could guess by watching it. But that was also somewhere in the ending, again, not ruining it. Reasons to watch? Everything! A most definate watch!

OH MY GOD! okay guys u seriously gotta watch this, when Bunji says a drama is good, then its REAAALLLYY goood! U see this drama got 21ep''s right? well i watched like 3th ep the morning i had an exam and i felt so bad that i could barely walk to school, seriously my heart hurt because of how sad it is!!!!! well dont get me wrong its not just sadness,, its like,, like,, heartbreaking romance.. One of those that make u feel soooo... like flying on the clouds but while there's a thunderstorm. _U get me?? like flying on the skies.. i mean its really nice romance but still its so sad .. And the actors are actually really great, like when u watch the behind the scenes thing, they could laugh one moment and the other, tears would just flow .. ayaaaa,, and the little kid is soooo ke ai! His faces when he smiles.. it could even melt the old hag's heart.. and he's so smart and so cute ... and yeah Mu Cheng is such a good mother,, awwww :'(
anyway guys.. this is a must!! Its one of those dramas u cant miss !!!!!!

The story is a about the young and (too) arrogant Long Ma (Qin Jun Jie), who usually lives in America, is sent back to China (he used to live with his mother in America). Not only is he arrogant, but he is actually a so called 'genius' in Tennis. Having won several championships in America, and being the son of a former (well-known) tennisplayer, he grew up with tennis. His father notices his arrogance, and askes one of his friends, who happens to be the coach of Qing Xue High School, to take him in and make him understand the true mening of tennis, and learn Long Ma, that tennis isn't a sport 'of one' as Long Ma sais it. As he joins the team mates bump heads with Long Ma, and the fact that he is the first freshman that takes a spot as a regular, doesn't help much...

I liked this drama. It was fun and it resembled the manga/anime alot. I loved how the used the "Mada mada dane~" (not quite there yet~) in the chinese version too, which Long Ma would use everytime his oppenent lost, the team sprirt, and the realtionships between the guys.
I found it great fun to see the guys in slowmotion and making funny movements (if you have seen the anime or read the mange, you see the guys making special 'attacks' - like twirling in the air, or shooting the ball so hard it goes through the bat-net). On the other hand, alot of the scenes seemed 'geeky', mainly because of the acting, which I have to say was not done THAT well by many of them. All in all, if you're up for fun, and like Tennis - like I do - you should watch it.
