Six Flying Dragons Review

Title: Six Flying Dragons
AKA: Roots of the throne
Genre: History, Politics
Episodes: 50
Broadcast Period: Oct-2015 to Mar-2016
Cast: Yoo Ah In, Kim Myung Min, Shin Se Kyung, Byun Yo Han, Yoon Kyun Sang, Chun Ho Jin, Jung Yoo Mi, Park Hae Soo, Ahn Suk Hwan

Set in the fading days of the Goryeo Dynasty, this drama depicts the lives and aspirations of six characters in establishing a new country called Joseon, with Lee Bang Won (Yoo Ah In) as the central figure. A fusion of saeguk and fiction, the story follows the conflicts of those 'six flying dragons' with the deep-rooted powers set against them, as they attempt to realize the dream they all share of a new nation founded on Confucian principles, which would eventually last for 500 years.

It’s been one hell of a journey, and Six Flying Dragons delivers a solid finale for an altogether solid, engaging show that I’m still not ready to let go of just yet. I have been following this drama from the very beginning when they announced Yoo Ah In were casted to this drama. I even mentioned it in my Secret Door Review (A great drama too). Words can’t describe the roller coaster feelings I have been through because of this drama! It’s really hard to break down a 50-episode drama, I need to make a full 50 pages analyze to make sure you get every little detail in why you should watch this drama. Believe me, there has been no 10 boring minutes throughout the whole drama. No time to breathe or get used to the awesomely-written script or the out-of-earth acting. There’s that heart throbbing feel about the whole drama it’s insane. How can I not like Lee Bang Won when it’s Yoo Ah In acting him? The ultimate Yoo Ah In! His gloomy eyes hide varieties of emotions, and that’s what makes Yoo Ah In who he is. You swim in those eyes but you lose yourself instead of finding answers. Well, I do. I can’t really find the words to sum up this review, because I haven’t even started yet. If you haven’t watched the drama yet… What are you doing then?

Fallen For Innocence Review

Title: Falling for Innocence
AKA: Fall in Love with Soon Jung, Beating Again
Genre: Romance, Comedy, Drama
Episodes: 16
Broadcast Period: Apr-2015 to May-2015
Cast: Jung Kyung Ho, Kim So Yun, Yoon Hyun Min, Jin Goo, Gong Hyun Joo, Lee Shi Un, Park Young Kyu, Ahn Suk Hwan

Kang Min Ho (Jung Kyung Ho) is a cold, ruthless businessman working for Gold Partners, a major bond investment firm. He has an axe to grind against the company Hermia Group. His philanthropic father was once Hermia's CEO, but he was charged with embezzlement after his death, leading to Kang Min Ho's mother committing suicide and all their family shares were transferred to Kang Hyun Chul (Park Yeung Gyu), Kang Min Ho’s uncle who now runs the company. As he butts heads with his uncle, Kang Min Ho comes across Kim Soon Jung (Kim So Yun), the daughter of his father's former secretary and who now, works at Hermia as Chairman Kang's executive assistant. Soon Jung is happily engaged to Ma Dong Wook (Jin Goo), a detective. Dong Wook dies in an apparent hit-and-run and in a strange twist of fate, Kang Min Ho becomes the recipient of his heart and makes a full recovery. However, Kang Min Ho begins to exhibit different personality traits and habits, ones similar to the deceased Dong Wook's, and finds himself falling for Soon Jung.

I have to admit, I love this drama. In the beginning, I was very hesitant about it, I mean c’mon… A heart transplant and then loving the same person, even changing the personality. I was very sure it would be a huge failure, and yet… and yet… I just couldn’t stop watching it. I just couldn’t take my eyes off the main couple, I seriously finished the whole thing in three days and then just laid around the house hating myself. However, a few days later I got over it somehow I started thinking realistically about this drama. There was a lot of good stuff in it, but also some issues that was forgotten in the drama. A lot of stuff wasn’t properly addressed or explained, so it kind of leaves you with a big question mark. This drama is a good example of how a bad, or at least skeevy, plot can be saved by excellent pacing and acting. The acting by Jung Kyung Ho was remarkable. Without him, this drama really doesn’t work at all. Kim so Yeon handles her role admirably, but without him it would have been unwatchable. A character that, by rights, I should completely despise. He really is a badass, but Jung Kyung Ho makes everything he does mesmerizing. Every time he was on screen, I was enthralled. So yeah, beside the questionable plot I really do recommend this drama.

Frustrated by this Squad Leader of the CDC Lee Myung Hyun (Uhm Ki Joon) who lost his daughter due to an unknown disease tries his best finding the reason.
Trying to trace the illness they notice that a young man happens to be connected to the spread of it and seems to be immune of it. Now they have to find him and how to cure the disease, before the number of sick becomes too large…

The drama caught my interests after I entered the “Yeongasi” hype, but it didn’t really manage to reach that level. I felt that it tried too hard to become like IRIS or dramas like that, but could have become great if it didn’t try to do so. Casting wise, pretty brilliant, recognized some of them, but I didn’t feel like this drama had much acting focus, except for the lead actor.
I really spent almost 2 weeks watching this 10 episode drama, not because its bad, just not that intriguing I guess. Action/conspiracy/police/outbreak drama lovers, will absolutely adore this. I just wasn’t into it.
