Chen De Xing (Charlene Choi) left Hong Kong after her mother’s death in order to find her father, whom she had never met before. She doesn’t know his name either, and her only lead is a picture that is at least 25 yers old, but she is still optimistic and gets a job as a taxi driver. Her life is turned upside down when the super idol Bo Ye (Mike He) returns to Taiwan, and she winds up with his fans. Things heat up when she does a mistake and takes pictures of Bo Ye, infuriating him and his manager.

Bo Ye is known to be a star, but due to his father indebting him, his sister going to arts school, he became an idol, which he resents. When he’s finally able to pay it back, more debt seems to come up; his manager borrowed money from mafia, his best friends restaurant is not going so well, and his sister needs to go to Paris to continue her education. All this leads him considering going back to the job he hates, until he buys a lottery ticket and actually wins! But unfortunately he put the ticket in a book, which he had mixed up with De Xing! Now he has to get it back from her, without telling her about the winning price, 300 mio…

Yeah, I get why it didn’t become popular as Mike He’s drama usually are, it’s really not that good. The actual highlights of this drama are the cute interactions, which are rare, like RARE for a TW drama. The drama has the baseline that he has to make her fall in love with him so that he can get the money, but he falls in love with her; that’s a pretty good baseline, except the drama is thin as paper. The characters don’t do the actors justice, even though they aren’t that good actors, somehow it becomes boring, and 14 episodes feel like forever. I don’t mind push and pull as long as it’s done classy, which this is not even worth mentioning. I bet the director doesn’t even understand the concept of push and pull. On the other hand, you can watch it without the annoyance that most dramas like this have…

When 10-year-old Mei Le (Cyndi Wang) overhears her parents fighting about their divorce, and how none of them want her because she is ‘stupid’, she decides to change that. She starts being a good student, does all the chores, helps everyone and is polite towards anyone. This leads her to having no enemies what so ever and several diplomas as an adult.
Her boyfriend, who fell for her due to her independent and hardworking personality, tells her about his dream of opening a bakery, which Mei Le takes to heart, and used all her saving so that they together can open a bakery. Even his family sees her as their guardian angel, her life couldn’t be any better.
That all changes when her boyfriend asks her to pick up his younger brother Yi Lie (Mike He); a famous composer known as ‘J-king’ in the music industry, and is known for being somewhat of a jerk.
From the beginning, both butt heads, but when something suddenly changes, they are left with only each other…

I missed these kinds of dramas: romantic without being too melodramatic.
This drama is also very different than the usual Taiwanese drama; it doesn’t have the typical ‘flow’. The scenes are more creative, and the process of the drama is also unique.
The character suits Cyndi Wang perfectly, it’s been a long time since I’ve seen her, and even though Mike He acting as an arrogant and mean guy is more than typical, I didn’t mind it, I mean it’s Mike He.. lol..
Anyhow, pretty good drama, well made, even though it had loads of tacky scenes, but that’s what you get used to while watching these dramas : P

Tong Jia Di (Rainie Yang) is the girl known for her many jobs. Her father passed away so she is alone with her mother, brother and her uncle who causes nothing but trouble. As poor they had to borrow money several times and so their dept built up and now all they can do is work. Tong Jia Di and her best friend Xiao Nan (Michelle Chen) find a job at a event and they came up with the idea to make coupons which you can exchange for example for a massage or another favor. Two guys, the CEO and his "mean", badboy brother happen to buy one each, the brother, Huo Da, gets a "master/angel" coupon so Jia Di has to be his servant for a week. And so it happens, slowly with their little fights they seem to fall in love, even though the CEO, Hua Yan, has a crush on Jia Di and Jia Di originally liked the him. But as she realizes that she likes Hua Da and does not change her mind, so she tries to avoid Huo Yan. Will Huo Yan win Jia Di's love, or is she already strongly in love with Huo Da?

I liked the drama alot, but not as much as devil beside you *must watch*(also with Mike He and Raine as couple). This one didnt wake that strong feelings but was something I would recommend. The couple was the same which was okay, but made me have more expectations. It needed a bit more than just the story of their love growing. No "BIG" happenings.. But of course love the bad-boy-dramas. just that is reason enough to watch. The ending though was Superb! First time in the drama that i felt like crying, no wait second :D im not sure about the rating because it was the best but it wasnt bad either. If u like Mike He then yes watch it and if u want badboydrama watch it. But if u want that reaaall strooong feeling of love and romance then this one is a bit to..weak?

Bunji's Verdict
OMG, I remember this drama as being one of the first I’ve ever watched (long ago as I was just introduced to the world of drama, and had a thing for Taiwanese dramas). I don’t really remember that much of it, can’t really remember the entire muddle thing in the middle, but I remember the beginning and the ending. Lol.
That said, I have to say, and okay drama - NOTHING in compared to Devil Beside You, same actors and cast - but still decent. Mike He and Rainie are brilliant together, weird kissing scenes yeah, but the chemistry is defiantly there :P
All in all, okay watch : )
