Unubore Deka Review

Title: Unubore Deka
AKA: Conceited Detective
Genre: Comedy, Detective, Romance, Suspense
Episodes: 11
Broadcast period: 2010-Jul to 2010-Sep
Cast: Nagase Tomoya, Ikuta Toma, Kaname Jun and Arakawa Yoshiyoshi.

“Unubore” means being conceited and overestimating your own abilities when it comes to wooing girls. Our lead (Nagase Tomoya) in this story is called ‘Unubore’ by everyone he knows, because he simply is thinking that every girl falls in love with him. After being dumped by his longtime girlfriend/fiancĂ©, Unubore lives by falling in love with any girl after the 3 seconds stare - meaning after 3 seconds of they look at each other it means love at first sight. One day he enteres a bar where 4 other unubore guys are staying: actor that can’t get pass the corps role Honjo Sadame (Ikuta Toma), a narcissistic patisserie Matsuoka Seishiro (Kaname Jun), a glamour photographer Anai Kiichi (Yagahi Ken) and the leader/master who is over his 50’s Kurihashi Makoto (Bando Mistugoro). They all boost each other’s conceitedness, by overestimating themselves.
But surprisingly every time he falls for a girl she ends up being a criminal, so he ultimately asks them a question: will you sign the marriage papers or will you go to jail?

Yeah.. Uhm, this is so slapstick humor that I couldn’t even laugh. I think I kind of tried to see it as funny and ended up rolling my eyes even more. Though it has some scenes that make me face palm myself because of its ridiculousness, but someone these people are so dumb it’s not even funny. The huge and famous cast couldn’t even save this sinking ship, but you could kind of enjoy it because of the crazily conceited guys and their way of seeing life and women. The story though is so silly and yeah.. Ridiculous.. I can’t think of any other word.
So recommendable? I wouldn’t, but you can give it a try.

Naka nai to Kimeta Hi Review

Title: Naka nai to Kimeta Hi
Genre: Bussniss, Work
Episodes: 8
Broadcast period: 2010-Jan-26 to 2010-Mar-16
Cast: Eikura Nana, Kawaguchi Haruna, Fujiki Naohito, Kaname Jun and Anne.

Tsunoda Miki (Eikura Nana) just finished college, and was lucky enough to get hired in a big firm. Her younger sister has a leg injury, and has to get surgery because of it, so this job will help her pay the hospital bills. Together as a newbie is Tachibana Marika (Anne), with whom she befriends instantly. She even finds an office romance with Nakahara Shota (Kaname Jun), who fell for her sweet personality. Life couldn’t get better, except life isn’t as easy as it seems. Due to minor mistake, and jealousy from Marika, Miki becomes a target for severe bulling where she once almost lost her life. But instead of running away she decides to stay and deal with it…

When it started I liked it, a lot, but it suddenly became too ‘goody-goody’. Like suddenly even the wrongdoers, who almost killed the lead twice AND was probably a good reason for another time where the lead actress tried to kill herself, were forgiven and, which was the worst part, got what she wanted. I mean, I know it’s a drama, but honestly, it’s not that realistic. There is no way in hell one would forgive that, heck not only forgive, but just live with people like that, second even if she were able to do so, why would they? I mean its bull… Watch it if you like the theme bulling, and have some weird dream about it being able to solve itself with “the goodwill of one’s heart” (sarcastic)… Make me annoyed…

LADY~ Saigo no Hanzai Profile~ Review

Title: LADY~Saigo no Hanzai Profile~
Tagline: I can see right through you.
Genre: Police, Crime
Episodes: 10
Broadcast period: 2011-Jan-07 to 2011-Mar-11
Cast: Kitagawa Keiko, Kimura Tae, Hiraoka Yuta, Sudo Risa, Kaname Jun and Yusuke Santamaria.

Even though Japan is scientifically progressing, such things as the police departments are lagging. Their focus relies on catching the culprit and getting the very first evidence against him, things like autopsy and profiling are very unknown.
Yuki Akira (Kimura Tae) has always dreamt of having a profile team help the police force with the knowledge of profiling. She chooses four people as her team mates: Kazuki Shoko (Kitagawa Keiko) a profiler from America with FBI knowledge and a questioning past, Kaname Jun (Terada Takehiko) a profiler with special knowledge in facial and body profiling, Shinbori Keisuke (Hiraoka Yuta) a code profiler who uses math and equations to profiler, and a genius hacker Okui Marie (Sudo Risa).
The team gets a lot of opposition from the police department, so the team keep fighting to prove themselves.

This drama has the typical ’police-drama’ feel to it, the only thing is that the theme is different. I love the subject Profiling, HUGE fan of the American series Criminal Minds, but different than the American series the Japanese is way more absurd. Like a lot of the killing creeps me out! You seriously feel like you have no idea what the maniac is thinking, plus you end up feeling bad for the psychos… Very Japanese :P
Keiko Kitagawa is awesomeness, I love her, the rest of the cast were good too.
The only negative in the drama is that the action goes up and down, sometimes I yawn, sometimes I creep, and some of the scenes, where it should have been terrifying or where you feel agony, you actually don’t feel anything. Lol, don’t get me wrong, they do have messed up scenes, but yet bad ones. It’s good, better than most Japanese police dramas. I recommend : )

Atashinchi no Danshi Review

Title: Atashinchi no Danshi
AKA: My boys
Genre: Comedy
Episodes: 11
Broadcast period: 2009-Apr-14 to 2009-Jun-23
Cast: Horikita Maki, Kaname Jun, Okada Yoshinori, Mukai Osamu, Yamamoto Yusuke, Seto Koji, Okayama Tomoki and Kusakari Masao.

Mineta Chisato (Horikita Maki, Hana Kimi, Kurosagi..) has been living as a homeless for some years. The reason for that is that she is being chased by debt-collectors, because her father left her a huge debt without her approval. One day as she is running away from some debt collectors a man helps her and says that he will pay her debt if she agrees to be his wife for a month. A month because he believes he only has a month left to live in. So she agrees cause there is no way she can pay the debt on her own. But she does not know what awaits her after the man dies. She now has to spend 3 months in a castle with the man's 6 sons. She has to be their mother and unless she fulfills the 10 goals the man has written her to do the debt will not be paid and all her work was for nothing. It is not an easy job she has gotten because the boys dont have a bond at all. So she has to start from the scratch and first of all make them all eat dinner together. But that is gonna be hard when one of them doesnt even live at home, the other doesnt come out of his room, the third has a fear of women aso. But somehow she manages them all to be together and finally bond. But it only gets worse when the company of the man who died is being taken over by his secretary because he wants the treasure hidden in the castle. And they can only protect the castle, their home, by fulfilling the 10 goals.

I suddenly decided to watch this drama, before i thought it was just a drama about a bunch of homeless people but after watching just the first episode i found it really funny and interesting. It's a comedy so just the thing for me. Lots of fun especially with the secretary being all weird and the boys got all different personalties. And the girl omo. Like in 1 episode she moves out and in to the castle like 5 times. She just cant decide whether to stay or not ahaha. And so fun with her father, like whenever she sees him she starts yelling at him and he immediately starts running away yelling "Do ur best to pay of the debt!" hahaha and omg there are like 5 boys who like her and she doesnt even notice haha. Anyway its definetly a drama u gotta watch, lots of fun -of course when its japanese it gotta b fun. And it like grabs ur attention right away. And thats always a good sign.. I mean who would watch a drama that gets exciting at the .. 16th episode.. gaah. Hate those kind of dramas.. especially when they spend 5 episodes explaining the past.

Ill be kind and give it ^^ :

Bunji's Verdict
Hahaha! ''She'll be kind'' - as if the drama needs kindness!! Lols, sorry.
The drama is pretty different and a lot of fun, but again very typical when it comes to Japanese dramas. Like one girl and a lot of guys, where have we heard that before? hmm, let me name a few: Hana Yori Dango 1 & 2, Hana Kimi, Yamato Nadeshiko Shinchi Henge, Gokusen 1 & 2 & 3(okay, not the same, but u get the point) and so on. So it's pretty tiring. Even though this time around, she plays the role of the mother, makes the story more fun, and the love blossoming more interesting, BUT still VERY typical..
I’m pretty fond of detailed and precise background stories, as well as interesting “why did that happen” reasoning. The 6 brothers have all different backgrounds, and different personality, which makes it totally worth watching.

Good Luck! Review

Title: Good Luck!
Genre: Flight, Romance
Episodes: 10
Broadcast period: 2003-Jan to 2003-Mar
Theme song: Ride on Time by Yamashita Tatsuro
Cast: Kimura Takuya, Tsutsumi Shinichi, Shibasaki Kou, Uchiyama Rina, Kaname Jun, Danta Yasunori and Kuroki Hitomi.

Having achieved his life-long dream of being a pilot, Shinkai Hajime (Kimura Takuya) is now working to become a captain. Being targeted by Captain Koda Kazuki (Tsutsumi Shinichi) for "lack of diciplin", he starts a personal war against him. To complicate matters, he begins a relationship with stubborn and straight-talking mechanic, Ogawa Ayumi (Shibasaki Kou), whose familu is against her being a mechanic.

Yeah, I know, short resume, probably my shortest ever, and yeah, some of it taken from Wiki.D-addicts, but if you see this drama you'll understand. It's not complicated, actually simple, but nothing much happens, besides the last 3 episodes, which are good. The drama focuses on airplanes, and pilots, yeah, I started to REALLY respect them, but the story goes on in circles. Kimura is brilliant as allways, but the female lead, was dull. Okay, they look great together, but thats it.
Watch it if you want some good acting and of you wonder what a pilot, a CA (Cabin Attendant - Stewardess) and a Mechanic does..
